If the universe requires a cause, what caused the universe requires one too, and so forth ad infinitum. That is infinite regress. So what caused god? Tell me that sweetheart "Great spirits have often encountered violent opposition from weak minds." Einstein When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down happy. They told me I didn't understand the assignment. I told them they didn't understand life. - John Lennon RE: 4 Step Proof for God

Tell me that sweetheart You correctly identified what infinite regress is but if there is this supposed eternity of the past of cause and effects, you would have happened already, having had an eternity to do so, so you should have happened already. Therefore, nature needs a cause outside of itself, outside of time and space, being uncreated. This uncreated cause or Creator is what we call God so it is illogical to ask what caused the uncaused. You're dumb. What part of the bible says that?
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

But we have the mind of Christ” (v.16). Here is posed a problem. No one in the world has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct Him because all men are soulical. The only way to apprehend God is by intuition. How can a person whose spirit is dead ever know the mind of God? This explains why no such persons as this can judge the spiritual man, for none of these have known the mind of the Lord. These are naturally the soulical people. On the other hand, the spiritual ones know the mind of the Lord for they have a responsive intuition. But the soulical cannot know because their intuition is not operative; hence they enjoy no fellowship with God. The meaning here is that the soulical can neither know the mind of the Lord nor that of those spiritual ones who are fully committed to Him.
