probably because jesus never existed. The proof for the existence of a "Jesus of Nazareth," is shaky at best.
Problem is, the historians have not reached a consensus on really any of the details surrounding this man. Some historians believe that Jesus was actually a common name then and the Bible actually refers to several different people as jesus throughout the Old Testament. All of this stuff is so loose and undefined that who the fuck knows what the truth is.
Even if Jesus did exist? So what? That is honestly my biggest point.
It looks like Nazareth never existed too! At least it wasn't inhabited as a town or city at the supposed time of Jeebus. If he did exist, he should have been called "Jesus of Nowhere". I have been looking at Rene Salm's articles and Youtubes lately and they are very convincing. Who would have thought that biblical archaeology and multi-million dollar pilgrim tourist trade is all BS?

Salm attracts the customary ad hominem from the jesus freaks that "he isn't an archaeologist." While true, if you bother to check the bibliography to his book you'll see that he reviews the archaeological evidence....such as it is...in detail.
Not surprisingly the primary "archaeology" of the site was carried out by Franciscan monks and WHAT POSSIBLE REASON COULD THEY HAVE TO LIE? Israeli archaeologists contest the Franciscan findings but jesus freaks never want to hear that shit.

Yeah, I was having a chat at a business breakfast (BNI) a few weeks ago and the topic of OS holidays came up. One of the ladies piped up that she actually got to see the house that Jesus lived in in Nazareth, and threw some coins in a well that Mary drew water from. I said, "that's grand", but was thinking "Cha-ching!"
Salm said that when someone throws that ad hom at him, he replies that he is careful for that reason not to have an expert opinion on the subjects, rather he gathers and catalogs actual expert archaeologist's opinions. He is hoping to get cited in scholarship, but I think that it will take a while, if ever, as it is so contentious.

Yes, I understand that. I heard David Fitzgerald say recently that if someone asks you if Jesus existed, the correct answer is, "I don't know for sure - and either do you!" Bart Erhman really pisses me orf about this topic, as he talks of the "overwhelming evidence" of his existence and that he knows "with certitude" that it's a fact.

It is quite difficult to know the real story of Jesus for the skeptical but for the intuitional scholar
the The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ is the story that make more sense of all.

One day when you will leave your physical body you too will become a story even if you exist for real.
You never thought of that Bor, did you?

Right! I have read that one. Jesus gives enemas to his followers. This book was "channeled" by a psychic. It's full of belly laughs. I recommend it highly too, lil rik!

Leaving aside the historicity of 'Jesus of Nazareth' for the nonce, the story I was referring to is that dreadful novel you cited.
