As has been pointed out by Cephus, beauty is subjective. I can demonstrate this easily: If beauty were objective, we would all agree on what is beautiful and what is not beautiful. We don't. One person's "Hubba hubba!" is another person's "Meh" or "Ew!"
And besides, even people who are not classically beautiful can find someone who finds them beautiful. I just figured it was a waste of time to argue with someone so clearly out of it.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide mankind that cannot be achieved as well or better through secular means.

So there's hope for me after all?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

I think modern art with it's "scribbles" and abstraction is a distortion of "beauty".
If beauty wasn't objective, then why don't we have the very elderly participating in the Miss Universe
contests? We all get old, but are you going to try for Miss Universe at 99 years of age because you think "Beauty is relative" >??

The phrase "I think" is the hallmark of subjective opinion.

Fun fact about the miss universe pageants: the judge isn't the universe, it's people. You know, subjects? With subjective notions of beauty?
Humans have evolved to find certain aesthetic details beautiful in people, not surprisingly those that tend to denote youthfulness and fertility, and since the miss universe pageant relies on the subjective opinions of human judges, naturally certain people are going to be excluded from success there.
But you haven't given any support for your claim that beauty is objective, there. You've simply expressed your incredulity. I don't know why you think your inability to answer certain questions counts for anything.

So are you saying that the person you see as beautiful is beautiful to everyone else? Do you not understand the idea of subjectivity?
As for modern art, some people find that to be the most beautiful thing in the world. Other people consider it ugly. I don't care what you consider it to be. The point is that beauty itself is an abstract idea that everyone sees a bit differently.

Your don't have an issue with Atheism, your issues is the with unknown nature of our existence. You point out your issues Dawkins Theory's, but is anyone on the religious the argument trying to unravel the mysterious nature of our universes besides using dumbfounded statements such as "Well, god created man and the universes and that's it?". I've seen very little effort on the anti Dawkins side. I don't fully agree with him but he is at least trying.

I, on the other hand, love modern art. In particular I'm a fan of Lawren Harris, M.C. Escher, and Piet Mondriaan.
And quite frankly, I do not generally find Miss Universe contestants attractive, or beauty pageants worthwhile. My tastes run more towards androgyny (men with long hair, and tomboyish women). I also can't fathom what other women see in so-called "hunks."
Subjective. Definitely subjective.
