America's obsession with guns

Sometimes violence is the only way to get people's attention.  Maybe people should stop being shitty people, and then there wouldn't be violent protests.  I'm not condoning the violence--but if you want it to stop, you have to actually fucking listen dipshits.

Peaceful protests used to make people stop and think, and that was how the world was capable of changing for the better.

Presently, I agree with you, peaceful protests are simply ignored and the only way to get anyone's attention is to become violent.

Still haven't heard of anyone calling 9-1-1 or 9-9-9 and asking the dispatcher to send a hipster.

Then again, no one who did call a hipster ever got shot by some fucking cop.

Quote:When Alfred Olango’s sister called 911 for police to assist him, she had no idea that the officers would kill him. But instead of helping Olango, who was reportedly unarmed and having a psychotic episode, officers fatally shot him, saying he was “acting erratically.”

Fooled your ass, didn't they?  Apparently, "acting erratically" is a capital crime to these murdering fucking cops.

What is that supposed to mean? Huge difference between being clam and keeping control during a stressful event, and acting like a gang member. Cops and military are not there to act like gang members, or judges or executioners.

Yes you want someone as a police officer that controls a situation, sure. But this shoot first assume the worst isn't even because of cops, but because they have to deal with an armed public which forces them to assume the worst.

Min provided statistics that show you have a one in one hundred million chance of being shot by a cop on any given day.

I think that Global Warming is a much more imminent threat than guns. Actually guns reduce the cause of the warming. Whenever someone is shot to death they quit using things that cause carbon emissions.

Guns are the answer.

Way too fucking high.  Cops, if you remember - and perhaps you don't - are supposed to make arrests and bring people in for trial.  Far too often we see the cops blow away who ever the fuck they want and the trial happens later in civil court when the taxpayers get buttfucked because of trigger-happy cops.  You have an ass-backwards view of the system, G/S.

"far too often". Yeah. But tell me, out of those 3.3/day you quoted, did you check AT ALL to see which ones were justified. And don't preach your "all cops are evil" gospel, Rev. Minny, just give us some hard data.

RE: America's obsession with guns
Having an armed population has many advantages:

1-It prevents the country from ever being occupied by an outsider
2-It gives experience to the citizens in handling guns; thus enlisting them in the army is easier. A soldier that loves their gun are good soldiers.

Then, the invasion of places like Iraq is easier.
For some Americans, the outside world is a shooting range, and brown people are sitting ducks. Note the "some"; it's the same "some" that shape the tip of the spear in international invasions.
