Hi, I'm not new but here is another side to me.

A lot of you know I've been very busy working in the garden this year in anticipation of it being on a garden conservancy open day on April 22. A friend just sent me this link to a blog by a fellow who lives in Davis who came that day and took a lot of photos in his entry about my garden. He says I was swamped talking to people when he was there or he would have introduced himself. I always enjoy seeing the garden through someone else's eyes. I think he did a great job. So for the curious here is that link.

I have a much more complete picture now.
That guy's possibly a better photographer than you. :-)
So now I know a celebrity gardener.

W'ist your garden is so incredible.
One day Tanner and I will come visit.

As long as Tanner doesn't cock a leg on his prize petunias! That could kill the friendship!

When you do I'll show you where the gate out to the creek is and Banners can get down there to cool off a bit.

I've got to say, I'm enjoying seeing it in this super manicured form too. But if I'd felt compelled to maintain it at this standard all the way through I could never have made the garden. By disposition I am what is called a "relaxed gardener". Weeds and a certain wildness do not bother me. For some that just means I'm lazy but to me it means I have different priorities. I actually want to be able to feel that nature is getting to have its say here too. It's kind of like how I am with my dogs. I don't want them jumping all over people or running amuck so they need to be in a relationship to me in which they'll differ to me. But I don't want a little robo-dog which never gets to express its own nature because I'm obsessed with control. In some ways the garden feels right now as if I've wrestled it into a corset and smeared too much make up on it - for my tastes. But maybe I'm just kinky enough to appreciate that look a little too.

One thing he does do, though, is get too excited around other dogs and throw up.
He'll leave a nice clean pile of bile jelly for everyone to marvel at.

The marking isn't really a problem anyhow. Smokey mostly ignores dogs that are bigger than he is and Heidi just likes to flirt with the boys. I guess if she isn't his type that might make him puke.
