Discipline/lack of and atheism

RE: Discipline/lack of and atheism
If you are confused by this thread it's your fault for not joining Slack sooner.

Robot. I sold more copies on eBay. I keep getting negative reviews when people read it though. Must be because I'm brown. Oh! If I were only a SELECT white guy! Alas!
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Kudos on your finest humour of the day.

I don't care, knowing that you're joking. End of story.

Now, could you please stop harassing me with jokes that you were selling copies of my novels? I don't want to hear anymore. I just want to forget it altogether. If you continue to relentlessly do so, I'll report your posts to the forum's other moderators. I just have no time to waste responding to your jokes. All you seek is to see myself hurt by your jokes - just cut the crap. Cut it out!

Enough of jokes for now. You're not a kid. You're an adult. You need to grow up - stop being childish by joking and fooling around. Learn to live with integrity and stick to it. Man up!

As for someone being racist and white supremacist towards you, learn to deal with it - learn to tolerate it. Man up, dude! Learn to be resilient. You're not a kid anymore, so stop whining! Learn to accept any racial slurs aimed at you. Words are words - they bear little to zero impact on your state, body and mind. It's your problem, not theirs if you feel afflicted by racial slurs such as 'nigger' anyway.

You think you're getting into A69?

Just how you presumed me to be a theist, not atheist with such a tone of hatred and antagonism, I presume that you're a racist, white supremacist intent on excluding, name-calling and having me rendered inexistent.

Anyway, my avatar is Napoleon I in statue. You don't know me well, just as I don't know you well either. So stop presuming what I might be, you bigoted person!

If you were the guy I thought you were, I'd allow my comments to stand.  But I admit I cannot be sure.  So if you're not in fact that guy I do apologize most sincerely.  I just saw the avatar, read the OP which put me in mind of a certain pompous poster at that other site, and jumped to that assumption without reading anything else or following any of the discussion.  I had no idea what race you are and am still not sure but I assume you have more natural protection from the sun than myself (lucky bastard).  The previous username - whateverist the white - was a shallow appeal for more rep when I was just under 100 (reps, not years), based on a certain wizard's transformation in a popular Tokien story.

But I should apologize for calling you a cock sucker.  I was going for shock value and given the ambience over at unreasonablefaith I thought it fit the bill.  But there is nothing wrong with being a sucker of cocks, unless you forget to mind your teeth.  I'm married to one and from what I hear the experience can be quite a lot of fun.  Naturally I had to find out for myself.  While my own experience is limited I have to say I do see the appeal.  So don't let my attempt to malign someone who deserves maligning put your off finding out for yourself should the opportunity arise.

By the way, welcome to the forums where any one can say what they please so long as they clean up their messes.

Hands up, anyone surprised at that.

No - hands up in the air.

Just make sure that they're in breach of the Rules before you do that.

In any case, please don't threaten people with the report system in open thread. That's not appropriate.

Thank you sir. Now you've brought me a peace of mind. I'm a known nascent atheist on The Thinking Atheist forum, and a long-standing atheist well known and respected on Atheist Foundation of Australia forum, which is my best one for its safe zones and strict rules against attacking someone as a person than ideas. I'm not used to the culture shock that Atheist Forums poses and entails so I can be sensitive at times and try to avenge on those who attack me as a person, when they should only attack my ideas.

If you don't believe me on that, you can look for evidence where I've discussed my repressed sexuality issues on another forum - I can provide a link in PM.

The site I mentioned has strict decorum rules as well but you'd be surprised how much derision can be expressed while maintaining surface manners in speech as good as your own. That is what most reminded me of this other guy whose name I am not at all sure of now. Again, sorry for the shot you haven't earned here .. so far as I know. How are things going for you? Guess I'll see what threads you've opened to get an idea of your interests. I have to tell you I have no atheist agenda, just human ones. But I do appreciate the opportunity to converse with atheists where there is no need to tip toe around grown people's special feelings for their secret friend.

I'm doing fine, currently studying architecture post-graduate. I'm on holidays currently so I'm working on portfolios, internet-surfing and indulging in other kinds of creative works. Having learnt my lessons for showing my interests and creative works to some members of this forum, a moderator included, i.e. SteelCurtain, who seemed to joke to a hellish extent about plagiarising and selling copies of my novels or so - coupled with my inability to discern dry humour from genuine claims and in tonal comprehension due to my hearing disability (whilst English is my first language), I can no longer be confident in sharing with anyone, yourself included, Whateverist on what I'm up to, creatively wise. For trust to build up, I need to get to know someone personally very well and after years of interactions.

Anyways, when you mentioned human agendas, I guess it's your humanism, yes? I like humanism, which is inherently atheistic but with a difference - ethical conduct, willingness to adhere to the Golden Rule and philanthropic dealings. I've always firmly believed in cooperation over competition which is why I've ambivalent attitudes towards capitalism and anarchy whilst pioneering a new kind of state that strikes the balance in between.

Adventurer Wrote:mh.brewer,

Regardless of atheism which is defined as rejection of god and nothing else, I'm only interested to hear from you atheists simply as humans what might be any of your examples in regulating discipline in yourselves and on your kids (if you're parents).

Definition of atheism
1 a: a lack of belief or a strong disbelief in the existence of a god or any gods
b: a philosophical or religious position characterized by disbelief in the existence of a god or any gods

Humanism is quite compatible with deism or any deity that doesn't unambiguously reveal itself. The point of Humanism is that we can't appeal to 'what God wants' as a basis for ethics and morality; not that there is no God (or gods). So it's not 'inherently atheistic', just very popular among atheists. At least no more atheistic than a plumber's manual, in that the existence of God is irrelevant to the matter at hand.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.
