Yeh the student admitted he did it. But he claims not because of racism.

Whoa now. You mean to tell me someone might make up an excuse for tawdry behavior?

Here's what I think: I think he wanted to point up "snowflake" behavior, so when the question was asked "who did this?" he owned up, and allowed that there was no trash-can around, in order to poke fun at the sensitivity of the "snowflakes".

If he really had a conundrum of no trashcan being around, why put it up on a tree? Why not simply throw it off-trail? Putting it on the tree so that it hangs is not something that happens randomly. And look at this picture:

[Image: 1620x2160.jpeg.dae0610934ee40419c2827f8d...25x300.jpg]

I notice two things about it immediately:

1) There's a building within perhaps 75' of the spot where the peel was hung. Does he expect me to believe that there's no trash can inside that building? Or would he prefer me to believe that his lazy ass couldn't be bothered to walk that far to do what he claims is due diligence in disposing of his litter?

2) That peel is hooked onto a stub of the tree, and not thrown randomly.

Putting those two facts together, he carefully hung it outside the building on the tree when he could just as easily have taken it inside and thrown it in the rubbish bin. Coincidentally, just outside the building like that, it would be noticed very easily.

Sorry. This is clearly an act of deliberation, where the actor was not nearly so subtle as he was obviously trying to be.

It's very rare I've found racists to say, "Yeah, I did that because I'm a bigot." In my experience, hemming and hawing is the usual course of behavior for them.

Let's not forget that it's a banana skin, and it's kind of pointless to put it in a plastic bag to be sent off to be put in a landfill site when it's naturally biodegradable. Banana skins are supposed to be left outside to rot in nature.

I agree he could have done this in order to make fun of an encourage snowflake behaviour in which case it was mission successful.

He could have finished his banana and walked past a protruding twig while chatting to someone and absent mindedly hooked it over the twig.

He could have been thinking I don't have time to get a noose and a pen like I did last time so I'll just do this as a racist statement.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. And then we extinguish them.

I disagree, in the sense that having a reaction to subtle racism is not snowflakism. It's more a matter of "I don't like this shit". When I see something I don't like, I pipe up. I speak out. Maybe you're comfortable hushing up and taking it (though I doubt that, given posts you've made previously about bigotry you perceive directed at you; you're very happy to complain about that). But if I receive a bigoted act or attitude I have no problem calling it out. That being the case, I won't criticize someone else for doing so especially when then context (as is the case here) supports their complaint.

He should take up golf, then. Look again at that picture, and ponder for a moment how the peel is draped over the stub. You want to argue that was a random toss-off? Never mind the fact that he said there was no trash-can nearby when there was surely one in the building that was staring him in the face. And never mind the fact that no one else said, "hey, I was walking with him and he threw it absent-mindedly over his shoulder -- I was there."

You're reaching, bud. Really reaching. Almost as far as he had to.

What I meant was if his mission was to get people outraged about a banana skin while not overtly being actually racist he succeeded.

I've seen actual litter placed in odd places before, wrappers placed over twigs, cans or bottles impaled on fences.

Bananas in a noose is fairly overt racism, a banana on a tree isn't.
Unless you know something else about the situation you're setting the bar where banana skins in and of themselves can be racist.

LOL, lovin it...

When the idiocy of the littering defense is pointed out, maybe it was the coons what did it. Hell, maybe pixies floated it up there. Little known fact, Prancer is a white nationalist troll - he spends the christmas off season trying to incite racial tension. Could have been him, too.

I'm just saying, lets not be hasty.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

The origin is that some racists here have historically referred to black people as monkeys or apes.

Ah thanks for that. I too was wondering the relevance of bananas.

Because that's so much easier than dropping it on the floor or slinging it under a bush.

One of my biggest pet peeves in the world, is people who drop litter. Can't stand the cunts. If a bin is too far, I shove it in my pocket. If there's no bin nearby, I don't buy food or drink that won't fit in my pocket. Or I just carry it all the way home and put it in my own bin.

More than "disrespectful", there's something really braindead, thuggish, moronic and chavvy/trashy about cretins who drop litter.

I've seen people drop it when a bin was a few feet away, and they do it like they're proud. Then I've finished my drink and walked over to the bin, and they've looked at me like I was a fucking idiot. Braindead morons.

Let's imagine that global warning was bullshit and that litter wasn't bad for the environment in any way. Still, why the fuck would you want to drop litter? It's fucking vile when there's a mess all over the streets and walkways. Ugh. Fucking plebs.

Littering is extremely annoying to me but if I'm in a non urban area and I have some stems off grapes or a banana skin I'll throw it to the soil because it's not like plastic, eventually it'll be rained on, blown by the wind, rot and dissolve back into the soil.
