I just watch news, sports and reality TV.

Have you tried watching it? If so - maybe it's not for you. Not everyone has to like everything.

If you care what people think about your living arrangements - watch the show, or at least pretend that you do. If you don't care - why are you b*tt-hurt about it?

You mean - cartoons? Are you seriously asking why people like other shows, besides cartoons?

...Or they don't live in 2005. Family Guy and American Dad were funny for a season, or three. They're formulaic, boring, cheaply animated and - quite frankly - not that "offensive" anymore, in a world where a racist orange rape-clown is the president of US.

I love Pirates of the Carribbean and Godzilla (Yes, everything from the 50s and every other monsterverse film. Kajuis, Kong and so on). But again, I don't judge people for not liking them. Or at least I try not too. haha
Uhm... What was your point, again? Are you really curious to know why GOT is popular, or did you just want to complain about people "judging" you for not watching it and list some random sh*t you like?

For me it's easy. I'm a fan of the books. Since Martin doesn't want to be the slave of his readers, it appears he's written himself into a corner and has no intention of telling us what the fuck happens next.
No matter how off the rails the show gets, at least they are making an effort to wrap up the tangled mess Martin created, and give the book fans some sort of ending they would otherwise never get.
PS, setting up a good story is wonderful, but ending it well is the sign of a master story teller. The shows writers may not be master story tellers but neither is Martin.
Pps, I'm really pissed off at him for abandoning his work and his readers, can you tell? Lol

I tried to watch season one on amazon prime to see what the fuss is about 2 years ago, got through half of it, found it to be a pretentious soup opera disguised as a unimaginative and almost unwatchable sword sandal and dragon flick, and have not bothered with it since.

I never got as far as in sight of any cliff. But I didn't get the feeling I would have cared whether any of the characters jumped off, got pushed off, or stayed on top, or if were near the cliff at all.

This disrespect...
Where's Steel?
I jest. Tbh as much as I like the show, virtually anything that has this many people wanking over it constantly is automatically overrated. There aren't many things that are literally that good... Game of Thrones is good though haha.
I think it's the appeal of there being so many genres crammed into it. It's dramatic with lots of intrigue, it's violent, it's horrific, it's sexy, it's funny at times and it has some heavy fantasy elements. There is something in it for almost everyone.

You forgot to note it also has zomb...um...white walkers. Covering horror a bit as well.
I can't believe the great work of politic intrigue, sex and shocking but realistic deaths evolved into a medieval zombie story. I know zombies are trendy right now, but yeash.

I don't dislike Game of Thrones, but it isn't some sort of a 'must watch' thing, either. I've read the books, which I rather liked.

It is easily the best TV programme made yet. The best plot the best acted etc, etc . It has the best villains as well as the best heroes the pathos is the best pathos and it remains unpredictable, even in series seven, it continues to surprise and impossibly, to improve.
I'm a fan.
