Ethics of sex robots
October 28, 2017 at 10:15 am
So they are starting to make sex dolls with robotics and a little computer.
What do you guys think of the ethics of this, if it takes off and becomes a more popular thing in the future? Do you think it may have a negative impact on relationships, society, women, sex, etc? Or will it be a positive thing? Or just a neutral, harmless thing?
Thoughts please.

Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

They have the same ethical implications as dildoes.

I don't know... I feel like a sex robot is a lot more involved than that

Like that kind of thing? Creeps me out. What will it smell like? Feel like (especially with regard to the wetness of sex)? Will it give fellatio, and if so, what if some accident happened, and he was dismembered, or some other kind of accident happened? I could see this kind of being a fad at best (how expensive will this be?).
As for societal impact, I believe this (presumably somewhat failed) technology will leave scraps of itself that evolve into other things (not sure what) that have a more lasting impact (and maybe less detrimental).

I think it would be fine. Until we get over our fear of open sexual relationships, people are going to have to vent their sexual feelings somewhere. It's a fundamental part of Humanity to have sex. Repressing it all leads to problems, like countries where women are forced to cover themselves because the men don't know how to deal with their urges.

I'm with Mister Agenda's opinion on that.
Just like dildos; adding a face doesn't change much to be honest. I think it's like an advanced dildo. There are already "penetrating (fucking) machines"; vibrators...etc.
I guess companies would rob people off with an "erotica robot for red nights" that is loaded with fleshlights, dildos, vibrators. Like 3 in 1: so you fuck; get fucked; and get petted on the...whatever. I already saw people do that with very basic stuff.
But nothing like flesh and blood female, and a human relationship.

This is your concern? If you want to worry about technology being abused you should worry more about 45's tweets.
Sex isn't complicated one bit.
1. CONSENT
2. Know your body and the risks.
3. Safety.
4. If you are not part of it and it is consensual it is none of your business.
Religion has taught you that sex is evil. Sex isn't evil, ignorance is. If it were not for sex neither you or I would be here.
Technology can be abused most certainly. Hitler was chasing the same technology the allies were, we simply beat him to it.
If you want to worry about abuse. You should worry less about sex toys, and more about how big oil drug it's feet after objective scientists told them the led in gas was killing us. If you want to worry about abuse of technology you should worry about the fucking NRA defending "bump stocks" and their protecting dangerous firearms even when the inventor of the AR-15 said he never intended it for civilian use.
You should worry more about 45 having his finger on the button than sex toys. Wooden and clay dildos existed in antiquity long before things like the "Real Doll" company existed.

The early robotic prototypes will probably be similar to what guys experience being on top of an unmoving, non-reciprocating, mono-tone voiced hooker.

I haven't thought about it much. I guess I would vote with Mr. Agenda. I do see some potential issues though. They're ridiculously expensive at the moment.
There are lots of stories of guys "marrying" and collecting vast harems of sex dolls. If a guy is anti-social and not a good "catch", well, it's an outlet. But then, living in a fantasy world never seems to be a good thing.
There are even "male" models. A gay friend showed 'em to me on the internet. Apparently some women have bought one. I didn't ask how this works . . .
But there is a troubling trend of a new crop of child-type sex dolls. This is infuriating and nauseating. On one hand, if pedophiles would be limited to using artificial toys and not harming any real kids, that would be awesome. And on the other hand, it would reinforce the perversion -- and these types of warped fantasies usually turn into actual action in the real world at some point or another. So I think the child dolls are potentially dangerous and a really bad idea.
