Ethics of sex robots

I think its stupid and will just further encourage the desperation and demand for sex. Sex will become more mechanical while less passionate and intimate. Hence men will even more likely treat women as such. Are we seriously becoming that desperate that we are willing to have sex with robots for a quick relief? 

Some folks is just butt ugly and will take whatever they can get.

Why on Earth would you want to buy one that talks?

What are the ethics of being unable to identify and incarcerate all active and incipient pedophiles vs encouraging them to use simulacra in lieu of the real thing ??

The ethics of the former is the ethics of 1984... thought-crimes?  No thank you.  

The ethics of the latter is the same as the ethics of any person encouraging someone else to act upon their desires (gluttony, lust, hate, disgust)... it depends upon the harm and / or legality of the act.

Even at the most extreme peak of technology where the robots are like terminators but for sex, someone like me wouldn't be interested.  I like the challenge and puzzle of figuring out how to have sex with humans.  I like the element of not knowing if success is imminent or not.  I like giving real pleasure to someone.

But I'm sure the robots would be popular, just like I don't go see prostitutes but they are popular.  

I would say if a man or woman thinks they are getting everything they need from a machine, that probably makes them some sort of psychopath, or at least someone who has no interest in human love.  To me that means it's not so bad they're taken out of the gene pool.  They don't have kids because they're fucking these robots.  I think natural selection takes care of the ethics of it for you.

Like that kind of thing? Creeps me out. What will it smell like? Feel like (especially with regard to the wetness of sex)? Will it give fellatio, and if so, what if some accident happened, and he was dismembered, or some other kind of accident happened? I could see this kind of being a fad at best (how expensive will this be?). 

As for societal impact, I believe this (presumably somewhat failed) technology will leave scraps of itself that evolve into other things (not sure what) that have a more lasting impact (and maybe less detrimental).

I would not stick my pecker into one of those... However! If they could program one of those to adequately simulate sex (with enough variations to keep it interesting) then they could make a chorebot. They already have those vacuuming bots but I am talking sweeping, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, feed and walk dog, do dishes, etc. I am not being sexist. I would not demand this chorebot look like Audrey Hepburn in a French maid outfit. Hell, I don't care if it looks like a pogo stick. If it gets the job done , I am on board!
