It's what I'm known for on this forum. What takes everyone a novel to state, I can break down to one sentence.

I'm on board with encouraging members to posit viewpoints in a persuasive manner instead of trolling, generalizing, etc. The latter typically involves the same old tired tropes that I've heard time and time again.
I definitely have my own opinions but an argument or point of view that frames an issue in a way that I haven't heard or thought of before will make me sit up and take notice.
I'm here to talk with other like-minded people but I also don't need to live in an echo chamber.

I think what is being criticized is the fact that Neo thinks it's okay to do something he criticizes others of doing. And doing something that he criticizes other people of doing, isn't really making any point besides the fact that he is a hypocrite for criticizing them in the first place.

I get your point that Neo is trying to provoke hypocritical responses from people who do the same thing, but then not only is that an admission of being intentionally provocative on his part, but if what people are really doing is criticizing his own hypocrisy in doing the same thing he criticizes others for, then that's not them being hypocrites that's him being a hypocrite. Criticizing him for being a hypocrite is not criticizing him for doing what they do.

And the people who AREN'T doing the thing he criticizes them for (which is most people on AF), are perfectly entitled to criticize both groups without being hypocritical of course.

That's what I'm saying. I don't think he thinks it's ok, I think he was just doing it to show how ridiculous it is.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

It would be more convincing if he didn't have reviews as ridiculous as the parody of himself Tongue
