X < -7, according to the back of the book, but how do I get to that?

Youre right. Doesnt make sense to me, but I could be too sleepy now to think straight.

You solve it like a normal equation, with a small caveat: when you multiply both sides by -1, the inequality sign flips.

x - 2 > 3 (2x + 7)
x > 6x + 21 + 2
x - 6x > 23
-5x > 23
x < - 23 / 5
That's not -7... that's more like -4.(something)
