Peanut Gallery Commentary on the Staff Log of Bannings and such like.

How much exacts straws would one need?

I was not here when Frodo was but have heard a lot about him. From what i understand, he got himself banned on purpose so he wouldn't be tempted to keep coming back.

With that being said, can't someone just circumvent a permanent ban by using tor and coming back with a new sn? If so, im surprised it doesn't get done more often.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

IP matches are far from our only tool. We get socks using proxies, VPN, Tor, etc frequently and they generally are not difficult to identify.

Interesting. How do you identify a sock if not with an IP address? Is it just a matter of recognizing their style?

Posting style is one. I don't generally like to talk about our capabilities for reasons that should be self-evident.

Do you have top secret emoticon trending analysis software?

I have noticed from various places on the net, that a lot of trollish people and even sites tend to like to overemphasize everything in texts using colors, bold, fonts, and emoticons.
Should have a feature to ignore overly formatted posts!

I do this all the time except I don't use the word "promise" unless I'm certain I can actually keep that promise. Which is almost never. I'm wayyyyyy too impulsive AND compulsive.

I feel frustrated when I fail to live up to the intentions that I state, but if I ever break a promise I fucking hate myself. This is why I almost never make promises. I only do it when I can keep them.

I don't want to be in that basket.
