Expanding earth is so far beyond the realm of the scientifically plausible you would not sound even slightly more ridiculous if you were heard to leave the door open for flat earth, the spaghetti monster or that the moon being made of blue cheese.
My girlfriend thinks I'm a stalker. Well...she's not my girlfriend "yet".

I discovered a new vitamin that fights cancer. I call it ...B9

I also invented a diet pill. It works great but had to quit taking it because of the side effects. Turns out my penis is larger and my hair grew back. And whoa! If you think my hair is nice!

When does size truly matter? When it's TOO big!

Besides everyone knows that with advances in communication and transportation the world is actually getting smaller.

We might lose Southeast Asia in time too, leaving just open ocean between Asia and Australia. Southeast Greenland kind of has the same angle as Northwestern Europe. How about that?

Yes but not all elect to take such an advanced degree.

I admire that when something puzzles you come out and ask in the most hilarious way possible. You've made me belly laugh quite a few times with your posts--sometimes intentionally, sometimes not. Regardless, I'm glad you're here.

Even if you are "missing a few bits..."
Maybe the waves were big that day. I suffered badly in my youth from "Swell Disease"!

Yeah I remember in seventh grade worrying about getting a break from the frequent bouts of expansion going on below before I had to change for gym class.

Why did you have to bring up the turtles? I love those things you know, sautéed in butter with sherry! Green Sea Turtle IS the finest meat on earth! Especially the greenish filets next to the shell!

THEY ARE NOT ENDANGERED! That is ridiculous! There are endangered turtles, such as the Hawksbill, hunted for it's shell only(the meat is very fishy). When I went to Europe and looked into all those ancient mansions and castles, all the Hawksbill tortoise inlayed furniture was beautiful! So, I see what happened but, the Greenies are food only! NOT ENDANGERED! They are a nuisance--EAT THEM!

If you want to protect a species, put them on the menu as someone will farm them!

The only place on earth where you can eat them legally is the Cayman Islands where they are farmed for food at Boatswain. They are also farmed in Indonesia for religious purposes only because Australia complained. When I lived on Bali it was "belly up" yum!

I took my wife to the Cayman Islands twice and she agrees: they are delicious!

A funny story: did you know that Giant Land Tortoises took forever to be categorized by scientists because no sailor could get them home? They would eat there deliciousness and drain there bodies of the potable water in their bladder first!

IIRC the Galapagos tortoises were described and cataloged by people actually on the islands. I am aware that ships used to capture them alive and store them in the ships' holds by the simple expedient of turning them over. Sad way for an amazing animal to die.

It seems American schooling misses quite a few bits out that most countries get as standard. I don't know why they'd do that.

They don't leave it out; at least in my education it wasn't. But some of the "special" folks didn't get it, and in fact, in those days they were incarcerated [/sarcasm] so that they didn't offend the regular folks, I guess. Mainstreaming of Down's Syndrome people started in the '70s, IIRC. Better than leaving them in a home, when they can actually do things and be productive members of society. There's another segment of the US population who, even in my day (I graduated High School in 1970) just weren't into the education scene, and sat in the back of the classroom and did whatever it was they did, instead of paying attention to the lessons.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

It is not that American schooling misses these bits.  It is American culture insist those who learned nothing themselves ought not feel nearly as inadequate as they truly are, but instead should be proud to be soldiers in the war against knowledge as no one more learned could ever be.
