So I read this article and it’s hilarious: The fart that (almost) altered my destiny.

So I was wondering if anyone else had any funny/embarrassing stories they would be willing to share?

Got talked into amateur night at a strip club in Miami a ... few ... years ... ago.

I once spent 4 weekends working on my car trying to change the fuel pump...bought tools I'd never heard of before, did things I'd never done before, lost screws, found them when the smoke and Sparks started flying during many of the unsuccessful start up attempts. Finally, changed the damn fuel pump....wouldn't start....took in the alternator only to be told it wasn't an alternator....but some other pumpy thingy..embarrassing.....finally gave up...pushed the car a mile to the nearest garage just before dusk.......called the next day....they said come pick it up and bring five dollars to repay them for the gas they put in the empty gas tank........but hey....lesson learned I guess????

This wasn't public or terribly devastating - but it still makes for a good music party story.

Well, about 1985 . . . I was taking an electronic music composition class.  I booked time in the school studio from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.  Heaven!
I had studied every piece of equipment in that studio, I knew exactly what modules I needed to set up, I had planned out which tracks I needed to record in what order and timed it out. (Um, this was before there was a computer in the place, OK?  We're talking about two 4-track tape setups, banks of processors, and a Synclavier. The studio also had a huge Moog synth - which I would use in the next session.)  I started working on the settings for each module and filter and pre-amp and reverb.  And I kept checking the mixing board and channels just weren't showing up.  I looked over EVERYTHING, or so I thought.  
   Finally, after wasting an hour of my time, I went to the recording tech office and sheepishly asked for help. Reed was a good guy.  He grinned, said "don't worry" and cheerfully agreed to check things out with me.  He poked around for a while, hummed and hawed, and after about 3 minutes, pulled a rack away from the wall - - and plugged it in.


The missing lights on the mixing board lit up.  Reed tried to tell me that people did this all the time, but I felt like - 

Nupe.  

Do I have any? Yes.

Am I willing to share? No.

I had something pop into my mind immediately after reading the title of this thread; then, had a small internal struggle as to whether I had the balls to actually share it...      I don't.
