I've fallen into that introspective abyss before. Half the time, the demon is me. I embraced my inner demon, and immediately felt better. Noli pati a scelestis opprimi.

Fireball. When did you become so enlightened?

I'm impressed.

So, does your inner demon love you back? That's the question.

When you're done, you can slay mine.

No.

You make a peace treaty with the demons and the voices and work together against your common enemy.

RE: Deidre's Ramblings
Went for sushi tonight with some friends, and it was yummy as always. I tried a grilled eel roll, and I normally like it, but they added fish eggs, and I also like that too, but the combination didn't seem to mix too well. If there were ever a last meal, like if I were on death row...sushi would be my choice. But, I'm highly skeptical that prisons have skilled sushi chefs to prepare such special last meals. Dodgy

After, we went for a walk outside, and the weather was perfect, although, there were a few lightning bolts slashing through the sky, in the distance. It doesn't feel like a Tuesday. I usually don't go out during the week, but wanted to do something different. The work week is going okay, my boss (if you've read my Wicca thread) has improved! Not sure if it was prayer, the spell, or he had a lobotomy ...but, I'm happy for the less tense work atmosphere. Thing is, I like my job, it's a shame when a boss creates a toxic environment. Next week, I'm taking a vacation...more like a stay-cation, but can't wait.

I have a feeling if I give the voices the one thing they keep going on about, they'll just ignore that or switch to something else lol They're basically auditory assholes.

Maybe things are going better for your boss, so he's taking it easy on you. Hope you have an awesome stay-cation.

I love me. It took decades to get to where I accepted myself for who and what I am. I still piss myself off with my lack of perfection, but I've gotten better about that since I retired. One thing I wanted to do, but never had time for, was wood carving. I knew that if I lived long enough to retire, I would take it up. Given that I have only 2 of 10 male relatives who lived past 58, and one of those only to 64, I had little expectation that it would happen- that I would die first. Once I retired (at 62, that took a lot of self-sacrifice) and started carving, I realized that I should have taken it up earlier. A big lesson I learned is that it is an artistic endeavor, and that what one sees in front of one's self doesn't have to be slavishly copied into the wood. There is vast room for interpretation (and for covering that slip of the tool! Big Grin  ). It was quite freeing. Also, it's a quiet activity, for the most part. I'm not good with a lot of loud noises because of sensitive hearing. I can take the carving tools to a piece of wood and just sweep them around to remove wood, in near silence. It's quite relaxing and therapeutic. You won't see me making bear carvings with a chain saw, that's for sure.

I like these metaphors, you're a deep guy, Fireball. I like it.
