Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

I blame the NRA and Walmart.

These are not storm related.  They, and many others, are the direct result of policy decisions by republicunt cocksuckers who will gladly poison anyone in their pursuit of corporate profits.

Yes, it is the same horrible logic that allows climate change deniers to deny that burning fossil fuels  is hurting our climate.

My guess is that it's better than long term Brian logic. (if that even exists)

I am so fucking sick of the charge that regulations always hurt business. Regulations are why we have traffic lights too. If we left it up to the GOP and never challenged business we'd be a third world country.

So you will opportunistically trod any disaster underfoot as a soap box from atop which you would advocate your political view, regardless of whether your view could even in theory have prevented or mitigated the disaster.

You come across very much like the religious fanatic to whom anything is evidence of his god.  To you it seems any disaster is basis to shriek your view is right.

Yea, that is the same ignorance as when climate change deniers ignore the long term data, and say, "today was cold so therefore climate change is a hoax".

LONG TERM you cannot keep advocating speed and at the same time ditch oversight. It may be great for short term profits, but the faster you go and especially without regulations, the more things can go wrong.

Apollo 13 did not get back safely without redundancy. In fact, the movie does a disservice to the reality of the real event. The movie would have you believe that everything was on the fly, when the majority of the "what ifs" that did go wrong, were PLANNED OUT PRIOR TO THE LAUNCH.

There is no fucking excuse for that duck boat to go out. PERIOD! Even a non boat captain can watch the local weather and see the high waves and wind speed and decide not to take their private non commercial boat out. Even with open burn of leaves in your yard, all you have to do IS FUCKING LOOK ON THE WEB.

Knowing how many times as a delivery driver during snow storms my pizza chain managers PRESSURED ME to take risks and how many times I slid off the road and almost KILLED MYSELF, I can very easily understand that the Duck Boat driver still did it because he didn't want to get fired.

It is also the SAME bullshit mentality that caused the Hawaiian tour boat to get too close to the volcano lava and the explosion caused a hot soccer ball sized rock through the canopy of the boat injuring several and one critically.

Really?   Using phenomenon demonstrably unrelated to climate change as a platform for discussing climate change is a sign of knowledge and judgement in your opinion, then?

Well, a gamma ray burst occurred 6 billion years ago and it’s light just reached us yesterday, right during the middle of a Taylor Swift (Not ABBA) concert.  Now run with it, convince me why that is an occasion to discuss regulation and climate change.

Well, a gamma ray burst occurred 6 billion years ago and it’s light just reached us yesterday.  Now take it away, convince me why that is an occasion to discuss regulation and climate change.

I am looking out our long term marketing. Our climate has been get it done quick, get it done cheaply, the rich know what is best for everyone. It is the same no rules mentality that caused the great depression. Any climate change scientist will tell you "Of course you cannot single out one hurricane, or snow storm or heat wave" but you CAN look at the frequency in the terms of long term. THAT is what I am addressing.

Not even owning a business, or a boat for that matter, I live on the coast, and constantly hear on local weather reports ADVISORIES that tell all boaters regardless of size or use, that it is not safe to go out on the water. I hear the boat advisories EVERY FUCKING DAY living on the coast. When it is calm, they say nothing, when it is rough they tell EVERYONE to stay off the water.

If you own a business you should NOT put the public at risk. But if you are driven by profits and you can intimidate an employee into doing it anyway and all you care about are profits, and the employee needs to eat, you can very easily get them to take risks they would not do if off the clock.

Our loophole at the pizza chain was "the driver has the final say", sounds great in theory. But, I lived in a "right to fuck the employee" state, and even when I told the manager it was unsafe to drive, I got a dirty look, and seen plenty of drivers FIRED for doing the right thing in bad weather, and not because of the manager either, but the corporate mentality above them.

I'd bet my life that the pilot of the boat, was either gung ho himself, or under pressure and didn't want to get fired.

I was sickened by the full five minute video taken by bystenders who sat in a restaurant eating their dinner while the boat was slowly being overtaken. “Not a lot I can do to help, so I might as well catch their suffering and imminent death on camera!”
Nay_Sayer: “Nothing is impossible if you dream big enough, or in this case, nothing is impossible if you use a barrel of KY Jelly and a miniature horse.”

Wiser words were never spoken.

Well, reality is what it is.  Your betting one way or another doesn’t change what it is, nor reduce your burden to find out what it is, before attempting to use it as a platform for anything else.

You don’t increase your credibility by coming across as a blindly obsessed fanatic to whom everything circles back to your pet political view.    That is the preserve of religious fanatics and right wing lunatics like Ann Courter and Laura Ingram.   It really helps if you instead come across as if you can adapt your mind to encompass the specific situation at hand and talk specifically and intelligently about something other than your obsession, and ABBA.
