But usually, in most circumstances you wouldn't call it evil... Killing for fun is evil...

i don't know what definition of racism you are using to come up with your conclusion. My Chambers dictionary defines it as:-
" hatred, rivalry or bad feeling between races; belief in the inherent superiority of some races over others, usually with the implication of a right to be dominant; discriminatory treatment based on such belief. "

Usually caused by something other than the person being evil... We don't live in a comic book universe where because someone does something wrong they are evil...

There is usually a reason... Being ignorant... Being afraid of difference... Being misguided by others (I assume this is why many religious people are racist... not because they are evil).

But, I am in no way saying it is right... And people should no better... But, some people just don't.

I will, however, defend someone's right to free speech.

Besides, according to your own post your conclusion that racism is evil must also be wrong. I see no mention of evil in your dictionary.
