This is just pure nonsense.

Have you considered you just simply have no memory of your existence before you were born?

You have no memory of your birth, or even the months afterwards, is that supposed mean you didn't exist?

Seriously? You really can't figure that out?

It seems you are an even bigger moron that I thought.

Typical...

Can't defend your position so you resort to Ad hominem.

You know how morons tend to behave? They present wild speculation as fact instead of admitting they don't know what they don't/cannot know.

Sure I can. I am simply presenting you with an opportunity to demonstrate that you can actually rub your remaining two brain cells together.

If you are unable to do that, then sure, I have no issue publicly embarrassing you.

Ball is in your court.

It takes years for the brain to become fully wired and connections to be made, our earliest memories arise after this process is complete.

What he is getting at is.. You DID NOT exist before your conception, and you WILL NOT exist after your death. There is no difference.. So why are you so scared by that thought?

You're more than welcome to try, and you can start by addressing your quote I posted.

*emphasis mine*

Please point to the peer reviewed research that corroborates what you claim.

That being said, there's that whole law of conservation of energy that states energy cannot be created or destroyed. So even if you don't believe in the concept of a spirit (which really has no definition but it's something that cannot be created or destroyed, like energy), you have to acknowledge that the energy that causes your body to function, came frome somewhere and has to go somewhere, It doesn't just cease to exist...

Aww, poor idiot can't figure it out. OK, start with evidence. Think you can do that?

Bet you can't.

Half correct. We know where the mass and energy of your body goes when you die and we know where it came from when you were concieved. None of it is unaccounted for. There is NO room for your imaginary spirit.

Well there is one important difference. After you're born you exist and have some form of experience or other even before your first memories. But before you're even conceived you just don't exist at all. See?

So what you're saying it that you've discovered proof that consciousness cannot exist apart from the body?

You are a body with a brain.  Your body is what is conscious.  Consciousness is a process, not a being.  Your body is the being.

Science supports the idea that the mind is brain-dependent with studies of brain damage through injuries and strokes, studies of the effects of drugs (including anesthesia) on consciousness, studies of sleep and dreaming when some parts of the brain turn off, and studies of how different parts of the brain are specialized for different functions.

Why do you think consciousness is some separate substance?

If your body/brain "is what is conscious" then explain this...

https://science.howstuffworks.com/life/i...-done1.htm

Quote:By all accounts, Pam Reynolds, a blues singer from Atlanta, Ga., was a normal person before she underwent surgery for a brain aneurysm. During the procedure, physicians drained all of the blood from Reynolds' brain, rendering it completely inactive for 45 minutes. All normal brain operations -- from accepting signals from the stomach that the sensation of hunger should cease or the transmission of aural and visual information -- ceased.

Yet, upon awakening, physicians found Reynolds could describe the procedure in incredible detail.

Quote:What's most impressive about Reynolds' NDE is that her brain was brought to a nonfunctioning state by an experienced medical staff. Yet, she was still capable somehow of relating information like the type of bone saw her physicians used to cut off her skull and conversation between the operating staff.
