Good for you. Not questioning your intent, I am suggesting to you based on the BEHAVIOR of the GOP nationally since Reagan, you might consider that you are being conned. 

If a red state ends up taking expansion, it is because the GOP lies to voters takes Dems ideas and ends up gutting something else to make it look like they did something. Same shit the GOP did when Obama modeled the ACA after Mitt Romney's plan.

If you are voting GOP in your state do know that the national platform is a party of GOP that is currently LYING to voters saying they will protect preexisting conditions after trying for 8 years to destroy the ACA and currently have a LAWSUIT in the courts to gut the protections for preexisting conditions.

The GOP tactic has been the same for decades, just like the old Daffy Duck cartoon where he pits the beagle against Foghorn. Create a needless problem that does not have to exist, then offer themselves up as a solution they have no intent on fixing.

I've convinced my parents to vote in 2020.

I voted.

I like to view my vote as saying "Fuck you" to Trump and the Republicans.

Let me see if I understand this:  If wyzas votes for a republican who promises to expand healthcare, it's a bad idea.  But if he votes for a democrat who promises to expand healthcare, that's a good idea?

I haven't voted yet. I was hoping to go in the morning, but I don't want to go during the lunch hour rush, and the morning is pretty much gone, so afternoon it is.

Sad to see the weather facing much of the eastern U.S. That supposedly favors Republicans. Thems the breaks, I guess, but it's simply downright unfair that such a random thing should influence the vote.

It's a bit ironic that you followed a comment about the lack of compromise with a comment about the ACA.

I understand that you think the ACA is good legislation, but I don't understand why you think those that oppose it aren't looking out for their self-interest. If I was a woman that had a hysterectomy or was post menopausal, why would I want a policy that includes maternity coverage? My intent is not to argue the merits of the ACA, but provide another example where it's not unreasonable to conclude that somebody that votes for a Republican is doing so for her self-interest.

One of the few times I've been pleased to find a long line somewhere. My honey and I voted this morning, it was a great turnout in Cayce, SC.

Yeah, I didn't vote for Alan Keyes, either.  

I voted. I don't research things as much as I probably should, so I just went straight democrat. I did notice that Alabama is trying to make amendments to put the ten commandments everywhere, outlaw abortion, and make it so if there's an opening in the house or senate, that we should wait until the next election before filling the seat. I voted no to all, of course.
