Aside from the fact that a fridge magnet should drop you into a coma, how exactly are these electrons in microtubules receiving anything? Quantum tunnelling is limited to a few microns at best, and you don't have the capacity to produce or maintain entangled electrons.

I don't see Penrose or Hamerhoff listed. I am tempted by the In-depth workshop on Psychedelics though. Having a conference doesn't prove anything.

Speaking of refrigerator magnets ... I was just thinking about MRI scans. 
They use extremely strong magnets. 0.2 to 3 teslas. 
If what Penrose is saying is true, then under those conditions, shouldn't there be a massive disruption of consciousness and memory formation during the scan ? 
Hmmm ... I've read hundreds, if not thousands of brain MRI reports. I don't think I ever once read that a patient complained about any sort of memory disruption.
