For me it's a fine line between tanning and burning.

Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni:

I have had a couple wicked sunburns but I have it figured out now.  The burns were due to stupidity on my part...too much time in the sun too early in the season.

Now I go all out and use a 4 SPF spray the first few outings into the pool in the summer.  Wink  I watch the time and how clear the sky is and make sure not to overdo.  

My younger daughter and her daughter could live like vampires and would still be a beautiful bronze color just because it's late spring/early summer.  They don't even have to try.

seriously I don't wear suntan lotion and maybe burn once but after than I turn a darker yellow..

last summer though I had some small light patches develop on my head was told it was infatigo (the reason michael jackson turned completely white/I got leopard print..) those spots burn no matter how much lotion you put on. now I have full hair/as much as i can get to full hair any way and a beard and you can't really tell.

I'm perpetually tanned. Considering I'm South Asian, I'm naturally pretty fair-skinned, and those first 6 or so years in always cloudy PNW kept that as it was. Now though, I always have the light brown sunkissed tan y'all whites lay out in the sun for. I go to a darker brown in summer, though. And I burn, but no one can tell. So, both?
The word bed actually looks like a bed.

I tan. I think the only time I've ever burned was a trucker's tan that didn't tan.

My sunscreen has an SPF of infinity.  I call it 'a roof'.
