Yup it is in Lucas Film but not Disney canon (though some of the events are mentioned in the Disney star wars novel Tarkin) . Hell it's even referenced in the prequels

I think being referenced in the movies help

Not sure about that . But the above comes from the Star wars novel Plagueis it's a really good book gives you a lot of insight into palpatines backstory.
Thanks, but I was making a joke. I'm honestly not that invested.

But people were raging that such-and-such a director destroyed canon.
Last i checked the complaint against the prequels were not that they broke cannon but that they simply sucked . As for the Disney cannon as I said some of the events are mentioned in the official cannon book Tarkin and as the Prequels are still cannon .The main complaint about Disney is they got rid of the extended universe but all of the clone wars lore is still cannon which is were novel takes place it's safe too assume events took place pretty much the same .

I read some of the expanded universe books and many were terrible.
The new jedi order forms.
Massive alien fleet from outside known space invades, killing trillions of people.
The new jedi order is outlawed.
Han and Leia’s son take after grandad Anakin and basically takes over the republic.
Han and Leia’s daughter takes on her role as jedi champion and kills her brother.
Rinse/repeat.

Yeah most of the post Return Of The Jedi stuff was awful . But a lot of the stuff in between the original films and stuff in the clones wars war and the ancient past were good .

Agreed, which is why I really enjoy the animated shows. A couple of characters from the amimated shows even appeared in Rogue One (still the best SW movie since Empire...)
