Do you believe in horoscope when it comes to couple compatibility'?

RE: Do you believe in horoscope when it comes to couple compatibility'?
My two daughters were born five days shy of being four years apart in age. Same astrological sign, same season, same month, same day of the week (Sunday).

They are nearly polar opposites.

Horoscopes used to be printed in the paper daily on the same page as the crossword puzzle and the comic strips - entertainment. Nothing more. Certainly not a roadmap for selecting a life partner.

Two of my brothers are twins (two hours apart and Mum has never forgiven them), different as night and day.

I briefly dated a girl who wrote an astrology column for a small local paper (big tits were involved, sue me).  She backtracked my birthday and found out that I was born during a full moon, near enough.  She claimed this accounted for my musical abilities because of the stronger pull of the moon.  When I tried to explain that the nurse and midwife who delivered me had a stronger gravitational pull on me than did the moon, she accused me of being closed minded.

Oh, well.

I heard that from a lot of people to be honest.
Horoscopes are just some repeated content used to fill magazine columns. It must be a goldmine for magazine editors looking for content to fill their papers with.

The thing is that little changes affect us, take a solar flare from the sun on that day or a gravitational pull from the moon in another; mutating our DNA by tiny fractions on the day of birth to be born with certain traits.

I laughed at the joke; though. And it makes sense btw. but thinking about the dark side of the moon is irresistible.

Solar flares don’t seem to be predictable or routine events placeable to s sign... so even if this notion we’re true, and a solar flare affected you in some way at the moment of your birth that had a meaningful and lasting effect into adulthood.....it would be random.

Maybe a cricket chirped too... did that do anything? Was a microwave on in the nurses lounge? How about that?

Gravitational attraction is proportional to the masses of the bodies involved, but inversely proportional to the square of the distance between those bodies.  I've done some back-of-the-envelope figuring and it turns out that the gravitational pull of the moon on a DNA molecule is somewhat less than the gravitational pull of a pair of running shoes.

Should we attempt to determine personality types by what sort of shoes people are wearing?

I see that a lot of you are bad mouthing horoscopes but, if you're old enough, you know that "what's your sign" used to be one of the best ways to fire up a one night stand. So I guess I believed friday/saturday nights.

It worked almost as good as "I'd crawl over 10 miles of broken glass to sniff where you peed".
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

After continuously being pestered by an astrology "expert" at work for not having any interest, I finally relented and gave her the WRONG sign for my birth month.

She said "Oh, I KNEW it!" and proceeded to ramble on about how all of my personality traits and quirks meshed perfectly with my astrological sign and why I am as I am. After feigning awe and wonder for a several minutes, I blurted out...

"Oh wait....I'm not a Virgo! Tee hee!"

She didn't speak to me the rest of the day other than to give me the middle finger.

For no matter how strong the “influence” of the planets are imagined by you and your ilk to be on “certain” climates,  even you can’t be so stupid and ignorant as to not be aware that simply being born in a different part of the world has a vastly stronger influence on the climate in which one was born, then being born during a different part of the year?

Better reassess how prepared you are to recognize science when you see it, dimwit.

I still didn't receive an answer on the sun's effect on us psychologically; it's very hard to ignore studies like the following:

https://www.webmd.com/mental-health/news...depression

So if a star like the sun can affect us; what prevents other space objects from doing so?
[e any belief for stuff like astrology?

Uh,   If the sun can affect you psychologically, then wouldn’t being from different parts of the earth, say the equator or near the arctic circle, have vastly more effect on how much sun is there to affect a person, then which month of the year the person was born?

If sun can have that effect, why can’t other space objects?

Because the sun is 99.9% of the mass of solar system and fairly close to the earth, where as all other “space objects” in the solar system, combined, is less than 1/1000 the mass of the sun and most of those 1/1000 are concentrated in just one object, Jupiter, which is 5 times further than the sun?

And more importantly because the sun is responsible for 99.999999% of the total energy output of the solar system?

And Because the closest star comparable to the sun is 250,000 time further from the earth than the sun?

Are you truly that dense and that gullibly susceptible to flimflam?

But of course you are, your still being a Muslim makes no other answer possible.

^This.  Equating Sol's effect on human beings to the effects of other celestial objects is akin to saying that a fire in your home is the equivalent of someone striking a match a thousand miles away.

Russell Grant. Meh. How has he been making a living from this crap for so long. I'd love to see him trying to do a proper job, he'd last about ten minutes.
