A postscript to "what happened to me"

A true test of your palate:
Would you take a highly roasted Sumatra over a medium-high roasted Ethiopian? (Assuming an espresso brew in both cases.) If I had even a little connoisseurship I wouldn't be able to drink that canned stuff any more. What would you choose? RE: A postscript to "what happened to me"

As a point of correction, though ( )...I’m not even remotely overzealous in my liberalism, here...mostly because I’m not a liberal in the first place. That probably explains how I managed to disagree with everyone.I’m actually from a place where the alt right was always the norm. From a family that hides its drops of non white blood in shame, couldn’t bring my girlfriends home on account of brown, began my service cleaning up the ethnic cleansing mess in the balkans, and now live in rural fucking Kentucky, lol. So, my patience for the sorts of shit I rail against in threads like these is less than zero. It’s not political, it’s personal, lol. Other than my long-standing hatred of racist shitlords and disappointment in the people who make excuses for them....I’m exactly what people would expect from the Deep South. Small gov, individual rights, free market, traditional values, American exceptionalism , pro military, pro gun, anti-abortion....the whole bit, lol.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

But I hate to sound like some kind of coffee quaffing, douchebag hipster. I mean, pretty much everyone in Ethiopia has known this for centuries. I mean. If anything, they're the true hipsters. They liked Ethiopian coffee before it was cool. |
