The glaciers in Puerto Rico were ... impressive.

Went for a run today.  About 20 minutes in, I had to stutter-step to avoid a small dog that apparently has mastered the art of teleportation (little fucker appeared out of nowhere).  Lost my balance and fell into a brick garden wall.  Running lost its interest and I walked home.

Long story short, I broke two ribs and every breath is an interesting - but not amusing - experience.

Ouch.

I broke a rib by coughing once, New Year's Eve 2009. I had a cold and had to learn to cough without using my diaphragm. Much fun.

Sympathies.  I've had other broken bones, but never ribs.  This is different.  But a learning experience.  I expected that they'd tape or tie my ribs, I was informed they no longer do that.  Just pain meds and take it easy.

Yep, binding results in pneumonia all too often, so that's been binned. With my lungs that was a good idea.

Sounds painful! You'll have to put you feet up for a while.. How long does it take for ribs to heal?

I've been told six weeks.

Had a night of elderly people being sick with diarrhea. Thank goodness I have the weekend off. Let others deal with it.
