Special Relativity. Lifetime.

RE: Special Relativity. Lifetime.
Special relativity measures what science measures--and science doesn't measure TOTAL reality it measures EMPIRICAL reality.

I don't quite get it, special relativity is a theory, not a messuring device?

I might be rusted, but this poster general demeanor does not bode well. We will see, in time.

I estimate 70% likelihood of not ending well

RE: Special Relativity. Lifetime.
Just now been doing some research wondering about phosphenes and light and if phosphenes are photons produced by the mind. It seems they are. I also found all living things shine light. That DNA produces what is called biophotons and DNA can both send and receive light.
Scientists are saying it could be an information/communication network.

There is some very interesting research going on into biophotons as a source of consciousness. Sounds like fibre optic cables vs copper cables for your internet. The speed of photons vs the speed of electrons.

"They also worked out that, though rat brains can pass just one biophoton per neuron a minute, human brains, with many more neurons, could convey more than a billion biophotons per second. All together, the researchers conclude, "This mechanism appears to be sufficient to facilitate transmission of a large number of bits of information, or even allow the creation of a large amount of quantum entanglement." So there's what could act as an entire network for light-based communication in place".

The article has a link to the study.

From the study:

"Over the past decades a substantial number of facts has been discovered in the eld of brain research. However, the fundamental question of how neurons, or more specically all particles involved in the biological processes in the brain, contribute to mental abilities such as consciousness is still unanswered.

The true explanation to this question might rely on physical processes other than those that have been discovered so far. One interesting candidate to focus on is biophotons, which might serve as supplementary information carriers in the brain in addition to the well established electro-chemical signals".

"A recent proposal on "quantum cognition" suggests even longer coherence times of nuclear spins, but relies on quantum information transmission via molecule transport, which is very slow. In contrast, photons are the fastest and most robust carriers for quantum information over long distances, which is why currently man-made quantum networks rely on optical communication channels (typically optical bers) between spins".

It is also said junk-DNA is the major source of biophotons.
And from another article:

"Although this might sound like fiction, more researchers are looking more specifically at the junk-DNA, neuronal structures and biophoton emission because they offer much more legitimate explanations for the expression of consciousness (Grass, Klima, & Kasper, 2004)."

"After several independent studies demonstrated that living cells do not just radiate light, they also absorb light, scientists are now investigating the existence of a new form of communication using light. Such a cell to cell communication by the mean of light was first noticed by Gurwitsh in 1926 in onion (Gurwitsch, 1934).

Later researchers postulated that some intracellular and intercellular communication should occur at the speed of light in order to make the organization of living processes possible. Biophotons could offer that supplementary signaling pathway next to electrical and chemical pathways for intra- and intercellular communication.

(Popp & Zhang, Mechanism of interaction between electromagnetic fields and living organisms, 2000; Shen, Mei, & Xu, 1994)."

There is research showing not just self-communication by biophotons but also to others.

A fair assessment, sir.

Special relativity is a scientific theory and science is a measuring device.

lol, science is NOT a measuring device.

Of course it is. The senses are measuring devices, empiricism relies on the senses and science relies on empiricism. Science obviously enhances the measuring with tools and methods ... hence why it's a big ol' measuring device.

Science is a measuring device--and none the worse for it.

Nah, mate.  Science is a methodology that uses measuring devices.  It's like saying if you drive, it means you're a car.
