You forgot to end this with "YMMV".

All the topics that I posted with the serious tag are seriously meant to be seriously addressed both by myself and others. I didn't forget anything....rave on with your manic posting.

At least, that way, you'll be less disappointed!

Maybe I should bite the bullet and join Reddit?
I just get the impression that it's not my sort of atmosphere. Reddit seems like a place with multiple mini communities (subreddits) that are either too strict or too chaotic. I dunno, are there any non-crappy alternatives to Reddit?

I dunno, are there any non-crappy alternatives to Reddit? What do you want to talk about? Is Facebook an option? I'm on Reddit but mostly just a lurker, in specific areas. Today's average forumite seems to be limited to less than 100 characters per post.

Facebook is my least favorite website in the world. So I'll pass on that one!
And, yeah, the character-limit thing is bothersome. After all, if a post is long enough that one does not wish to read it then one always has the option to not read it. But if one's post size is limited then one doesn't have the option to read a longer post no matter how much one wishes to.

Today, I learned that there is a difference between a guard dog and a ‘guardian’ dog (sometimes called a ‘protection’ dog).
A guard dog tends to be more attached to surroundings than to people and is more likely to behave aggressively to any non-family member who enters the dog’s space (house, garden, etc).
A guardian dog (generally shepherd dogs and hounds) has a much reduced territorial sense, but is better able to discern specific threats to its people. They’re the kind of ‘watch’ dog that will sit down and watch someone take everything you own, but will try to take your throat out for taking a swing at Mum.
There’s no hard and fast distinction between the two, of course.
