[Quranic Reflection]: moon absorbed by the sun in the Quran: far future.

Actually, so many Muslims don't even take God seriously: to them God is "a personal human-like God" that only exists as an ATM; so they pray for that thing.

I rarely see Muslims that respect God or even his word; something that let me follow the Quran while the majority of Muslims prefer to follow the "Hadith".

It's not Islam that is funny; humans are funny.

One issue I have being a writer is someone interpreting my work to mean something it wasn't meant to mean. However, I suppose that's what it means to be a writer. Unless I incorporate a full appendix of everything I meant, future individuals can interpret it any way they want and think they are correct in their interpretation.

OMG.   Panic
If i wanted to explain an eclipse or the sun billowing up and swallowing earth to a seventh century human, i would have used something much, much more effective than some verses of arabic (or whatever).

If i can think of such a vastly superior way to convey knowledge, if a young kid can, if basically anyone can, why didnt that all knowing and benevolent being bother to?

What part of that drawing you think would have been too difficult to understand for a seventh century adult? How much room for interpretation do you think that would have left? How hard would have a simple experiment with fruits and a fucking candle been, in order to confirm what god has written?

How fucking lazy was that god to try to limit his "important message" to a mere few hundred pages of unintelligible blather? Was he too busy with spending his (unlimited!) time with something else (like watching us in our bedrooms, or smiting heathens left and right?). Even George R. R. Martin was able to easily outwrite god/allah, and he didnt even pretend that all his writings are true and must be obeyed.
Why didnt god/allah adress a few things, but clearly and unmistakenly, instead of a gazillion things open to numerous interpretations?
If god was the (science) teacher of my kids, i would get him fired.

Ah, but not you and I, we know that's false and we take god seriously, because we know that god is an interplanetary travel agent and sometimes space garbageman.

Here we go again with the preferred magic books rant. Hadith is islams workaround for progressive revelation. It's all as silly as the initial claim, ofc. I also agree that human beings are funny, which probably explains why islam is funny. Consider the source.

There are millions of simple answers to complex questions, and nearly all of them are wrong. It was, in point of fact, the simple minded simplicity of the authors which led to the magic books indelible stamp of lowly origin.

Now, maybe they didn't know better and couldn't have known better, so we can give them a mulligan. Seems like an awfully cynically way to conceive of those people, but whatever. You, otoh, can know better.

There was no "crisis" with the understanding of the Quran which made a workaround needed; but there was a crisis with the meanings of the Quran that dictators and ancient Arab warlords rejected.

Their rejection of the Quran came as forging a new textbook called the Hadith, which is a collection of nomadic mumbojumbo that give dictators everything they need to rule forever, and do everything the Quran prevented them from doing -like having sex with kids-.

-and it doesn't say a damned thing about the spaceships to alpha centauri, so..obviously, they got it all wrong.

You've got a strange idea of the relationship between magic book and islamic warlords. It very much reminds me of the progressive american lefts view that christians are unchristian - and that view is similarly supported by a misunderstanding of christianity within the western revisionist history of it's institution. So, pretty much same-sies.

Can you just shut up? You don't strike me as someone who spent much time with any Muslim, or any Muslim community. We ask you how many times do you pray ? You can't answer..

"I rarely see Muslims...." that's because you never go out and see the sun in the first place Hilarious

I see that this whole thing is eating away at you, so there you go : I will constantly monitor all your comments and future activity, if you commit any mistake regarding Islamic doctrine, I will dismantle it really badly.

So, be really careful what you say about Islam next time. Read

One small reminder, Mr. Nudger. The Qur'an is still the best piece of Arabic literature out there, regardless of whether you think it has any truth value. So I suggest we calm down a little about the "simple minded simplicity" and "lowly origin" bits .

I think you two boys should focus on the things you have in common, like a penchant for barbaric legal strictures and brutal punishments doled out by an oppressive retrograde theocracy.

Which describes an eclipse of the Sun.

Which is more likely - that the passage accurately describes a rare but known event (and ascribes an apocalyptic event to it), ...

or that it badly describes the Sun going Nova, by which time life on Earth would be dead for over 4 Billion years already from a hotter Sun (and the Earth would be swallowed along with the Sun, leaving no place for the observer of the prose to be)?

I know which one I'm betting on.
