And here the stupid Jesus thinks that God feeds birds—he thinks that birds put no effort into hunting for berries, seeds, insects, fish. Needless to say, that is very wrong. Birds frequently must abandon some of their chicks because they don't have enough food for all, and sometimes they even eat their young and feed them to each other.

This must be another of Jesus' cannibalistic teachings.

If one really knew who the Lord Jesus, the Christ Is, one would think twice about unnecessarily, unwisely insulting Him.  In principle, we ought not even insult each other... so why do so?

The ground/earth and creation were cursed because of the severity of the event of the fall of Adam/man, the result of which was work to this present day. "In toil" and "in the sweat" of our faces, we eat of the ground all the days of our lives... until dust to dust (Genesis 3:17-20).

The Lord Jesus is the Word, and word/holy Bible unequivocally commands that human beings work:

"Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need." - Ephesians 4:28 and also in part "...If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat." - 2 Thessalonians 3:10

So, you are mistaken regarding the Lord Jesus' intent because the entire word (though it may not appear so to some), is harmonious.

The point of that sermon was that we should not preoccupy ourselves with the pursuit of the material, becoming consumed or anxious thereby because those things have an end. Rather, while pursuing those things for daily sustenance, we should focus on our individual reconciliation and relationship with the Almighty - things involving matters of faith, and not flesh which passes.

"For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?" - Mark 8:36

Priorities!

Is slavery moral in any form?

How about human sacrifice?

Should a rape victim be forced to marry their rapist?

Is genocide OK by you?

All of these are moral according to your magic book. Where do you stand on those matters?

Yes, it is an exhortation to trust in God, rather than subjecting ourselves to endless stress and worry.

With mention of birds, Jesus was not advocating we behave like birds (?!) but rather showing that God provides everything birds need to survive.  They do not have to do any production work themselves, the stuff is just there for them.  Some berries or seeds here, a worm there, some bread someone put out here etc.

And if God is willing to provide for even the birds, should we not have confidence that He will provide for us too?  Especially considering how much more valuable/prominent a human life is, compared to a simple bird.

Basically His point is that if we attempt to know God and live as He desires, then we will receive what we need in life - just like the birds.  God knows what we need after all.  (NB what we "need" may sometimes be different to what we "want".)

He says: "Seek ye therefore first the kingdom of God, and his justice, and all these things* shall be added unto you."

(*the things we need in life)

Its pretty good advice.  I am sure we can all look back and see times where we were worried or anxious - depressed even - about exams, job security, relationships, health, family, the future, the unknown, you name it.  I know I have wasted a lot of energy on worry in the past and I can see it was all for nothing.

As well as being unpleasant to suffer from, worry & stress do not provide any solutions.

But the problem with all this nonsense is that one of the biggest components is yhwh worship is constant worry. Because he is a jealous and violent god, and like your average wife beater nothing you can ever do is right and will invoke a violent and vile reaction from him.

The simple fact of the matter is that anybody in a relationship with god is in an abusive relationship where their abuser is their own imagination.

RE: Jesus and the birds
It might be good advice for birds, but not for people. The notion that a god provides anything for birds has already been addressed. They aren't given anything unless they're kept as pets or livestock.....and even then....

They work hard, and alot of them die anyway. I wouldn't trade places with them. Theirs is a life of toil and pain and endless fear and being eaten alive asshole first. We worry about these things because it is rational and in our best interests to do so - any advice exhorting us to be like birds, however we parse it, is a suicide pact. The people who wrote that passage were the luddites of their own time - imagining that it would be better if we could rewind the clock to some natural state they'd never known and had idealized in ignorance. If that's the kind of good advice the author of creation has to dole out to we lowly human worms...... hard pass. It's clear, if this is a gods idea, that we've exceeded the boundaries of that gods plans or imagination quite some time ago. As such, it has nothing authoritative to say on the matter of how humans should be or live or provide. This would be like taking advice on how to build a supersonic jet from the orville bros, and that's if we're being generous to the hypothetical god who tells us to fuck off and be like pigeons.

Beyond the items of some local superstition about birdgod godbird - the passage, like bobby's song, is a salve for people who cannot genuinely discharge their frustrations. People facing an unresolvable dilemma (real or imagined), which is a thing that happens, and so every human culture or ideology has just such an expression. It's a deepity. Profound seeming, maybe, but trivial on one level and meaningless on another.

God does not provide for the birds. Being a bird is a full-time job, very hard with heartbreaking decisions.

People are not idiots. If hunter-gathering life was better, they wouldn't have gone agrarian.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

do you want to know why this message is lost on you?

You wrongfully assume that God only wants the best and easiest life for you. the he will put your wants and need first in this life and can/will only dare offer you the best.

when in truth God wants you to spiritually in a position to do/accept whatever it takes to be prepared for the next life. often time in the beginning (if we learn the lessons God would teach us) life is harsh and we might loose things we hold close, but over time/when we learn to seek sustenance from God we will have what we need and more to share. the reason you don't see this is because you only want what you label good or what comes easy. often what God initially offers is not what we considered to be good or easy.

This has nothing to do with Jesus saying to people to live like birds and not care about what they will eat and not care about their future, these are just your stupid wishful thinking ramblings.
So stop trolling.

Drich maintains himself to be a product of this process....and we've all got to see what he has to share.
