What happened with Trayvon? I heard Trayvon attacked Zimmerman, and Zimmerman's nose was broken in the police video, he claims Trayvon went for his gun and he shot in self defense, the jury agreed and didn't convict, what are your personal thoughts on the case? Just trying to keep it real.

If he didn't know he was killing him, it's only because he simply didn't give much of a shit about George Floyd's life. And, frankly, if he at least gave a shit, you'd think he wouldn't have waited until a bit under 4 minutes after he lost consciousness to get up. If he gave a shit, don't you think he'd have (at the very least) gotten off his neck when it became clear he wasn't moving, when people in the crowd were going so far as to ask what his pulse was?

It might seem brazen, especially for an event that was caught on multiple cameras in front of witnesses, but, let's face it, cops tend to be given a LOT of leeway. In the years prior to the shooting, only 104 cops nationwide were arrested in connection with deaths they committed on-duty. And of those, only 35 were actually convicted, and only 4 of murder, and the maximum sentence in those cases? 16 years. Of course, 18 more were convicted of manslaughter, but their sentences averaged out to 5 1/2 years. It's also worth noting that, of the 104 officers to be arrested, 24 had yet to go to trial at the time of publication. The fact that a bit less than a quarter of these cops had yet to go to trial in this dataset that covered 15 years ought to show how rare it historically has been to prosecute a death done by a cop.

Yes, I do believe that Black Lives Matter. And, of course, this isn’t just the result of one bad apple. It’s a result of a huge problem of systemic racism.

And I don’t really think that this is the result of “some bad apples.” Just to take one example, from the study I cited earlier, in the 15 years prior to the Floyd killing, the number of police officers arrested in connection with deaths they caused on the job is just barely in the double digits, and a bit less than a quarter of those cases had yet to go to trial at the time. And with numbers like that, I’m inclined to think it’s not just a matter of “some bad apples.” It’s more like the criminal justice system hasn’t really been doing a job of punishing those “bad apples.” And if you want more info on systemic racism, this google doc has loads of studies to pore over.

Actually, he’s also being charged with 3rd degree murder. And second degree means he’s being charged with willfully, intentionally murdering Floyd.

You’re very stupid and poorly informed.
