It does not help that America has had decades of Jerry Springer, WWE and Fox News and Duck Dumbnasty.

Now mind you I am not against blasphemy or offending others. But what we are talking about is climate overall. I listen to Metallica "Seek And Destroy" which, in all honesty was nothing more than a thrash song written to appeal to teen angst. But at the same time, as troubled as I was having a single mother in my teens, I didn't go on killing sprees like Dillion Roof.

The failure to reduce poverty and violence, white or black, ultimately has to do with pay gap. If parents, urban, suburban or rural, cant pay their bills, or be home for their kids, violence will be the bane of ignoring the pay gap.

It isn't just the NBA, or any sport. It is America's failure to address our pay gap, and cost of living gap, no matter urban, suburban or rural.

For a 37 thread, this is as on track as it gets.

Name me one human, one class, one economic status that does not live on the same planet. Name me a magical political or economic or religious view, anywhere in the world that is immune to human interaction.

Hate to burst your bubble Buru or Arwethereyet, but this is the only rock all 7 billion of us live on. While I have to live with the fact humans disagree. I really do get tired of nonsense.

My OP was about needless fighting in sports. I cant see how my post is controversial.

You’re tired of nonsense? I know just how you feel.

But you miss my point, which is that your comments about the pay gap are off the rails regarding this topic - fans aren’t throwing things at basketball players because of a pay gap.

Yeah, 37, you lost me at the social issues.  After 1963, Arkansas and Ole Miss football cancelled their yearly meetings in Memphis because fans were brawling in the stands every year.  So, that's nothing new, and the teams and fans were all white.  But I think we agree that divisive politics and hateful social media have lead to the current lack of civility among people supporting different teams, whether it's a sports, political, or societal team.

NO, just the opposite. These same fans are the same ones who can't understand why Colin protests, the same self entitled morons who have the money to attend the games, but stupidly think because they attend sports that are a majority black, their sense of self entitlement gives them the right to be dicks.

It is related.

The Majority of white NBA, NFL, MLB owners have constantly resisted protest by their players whom are a majority minority at this point in history.

The entitlement to assault players or fans between fans is directly related to the psychology of "I paid this, so I am entitled". Now believe me, survey any pro level sport, meaning the fans with tickets or season tickets,(at least in America) who do you think makes up the majority of those who attend?

Pro sports as far as ownership and fan attendance is lopsided. Pro sports is a majority white owned, and a majority white attended. Even if the players are more mixed than they were 40 years ago.

I'd bet my life, that there is a huge difference between whites who attend pro sports events and can afford regular season tickets vs blacks and Hispanics.

I agree, there is no excuse for that kind of shit. Now, unruly fans are not a new thing. Even fights between fans, or fights at sports bars piss me off. I have never understood why any adult thinks it is ok to fight over a game. The idiots who do this are not fighting the Nazis, it is just a game.

I once went to Philly at their old stadium for a Washington Eagles playoff game. I was the only Washington fan in the rowdiest section. On the kickoff, we got the ball and made long run to start the game. I cheered, and the next thing I knew I had bottles and food thrown at me. Another time at a bar, a Cowboy fan overheard me talking to the guy next to me about a crappy play Dallas made, and he wanted to start a fight with me. I wasn't even trying to piss anyone off, just commenting on the play.

I am fine with friendly trash talk too. But to commit an act of violence over a sporting event is just to me insane. Be it at a stadium or bar, security/owner, has every right to toss you out, or even have police arrest them.

In the case of Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets, he was begging for something like that to happen with his stomping and wiping his foot on the Celtics logo mid court after the game. He's a little shit for that. This is the same guy who lit sage and walked around the Celtics arena earlier this year to cleanse out the bad spirits as he put it. Kyrie Irving admitted that he was not acting how he should have been the season he was on the Celtics and he admitted that he was not a good teammate that year, and he blamed it on a family members death, but now he's being a little shit and rubbing his foot on the logo? You just don't do that. And now the little shit is calling it racism when he completely provoked it by being a little shit.

Needless sports.

Why are sports needless? If we are going to get picky, so are board games, sailing, kayaking, having a pet cat or dog.
