No More Guns

Not all gun related news is a mass shooting; thus, this thread.
As school shootings surge, a sixth-grader tucks his dad’s gun in his backpack
washingtonpost.com
Quote:Months had passed since the sixth-grader decided he wanted to die, and now the day that he hoped would be his last had come. The boy snuck into his father’s bedroom, reaching into a dresser drawer for the loaded magazine and 9mm handgun he’d been told never to touch. He hid them both inside his backpack, then left for school.
“I hope my death makes more senses then my life,” the 12-year-old had already jotted in a spiral-bound notebook of his plan to commit suicide-by-cop. He would have shot himself if he hadn’t feared offending God, he later said in an interview he and his father gave to The Washington Post. Forcing a police officer to kill him didn’t seem as bad.
“That way it wasn’t a sin,” he explained.
So, at 8:44 a.m. on April 26, he walked down a busy hallway at Plymouth Middle School outside of Minneapolis, loaded the magazine, chambered a round. He pointed his dad’s gun toward the ceiling, the start of a school shooting that, like more than a dozen others in the past four months, has gone almost entirely overlooked during the pandemic.
Pop, pop, pop.
He saw the terror in the eyes of the kids around him. He heard their screams. He watched them run. With the hallway empty, he said, he removed the magazine and cleared the chamber. Then the boy sat on the floor, where he waited for someone to kill him.

Well, someone's clearly watched Joker
And clearly someone hasn't done enough research into suicide-by-cop to pull it off properly. They're not going to shoot the guy who clearly has no ammo and is sitting on the floor doing nothing. At least, not if he's white.

Then again, again, and in the very same town

And your story smells a little fishy.

The msm pretty much ignores any story where someone is saved by a gun.
Why? Bias of course.
If you really think msm is " fair and balanced" you really aren' t paying attention.
I have seen case after case where someone is " under investigation" for protecting themself with a gun - and the media hammers on about it - and invariably when they are found justified in use - it immediately becomes an "un- story" and it only gets a mention in The National Rifleman (NRA'S rag). Of course then it's "biased reporting".
EDIT TO ADD. Had prob with link on my end. Fixed.

So, the mainstream media is like Fox News to you?
And maybe the reason those stories become “un-stories” after it becomes clear it was justifiable is because there simply isn’t much else to talk about?

I don’t think (in this case) it’s a media issue. The story simply stinks.
Which is more likely - that a 14 year old scared off two violent intruders, or the girls were goofing around with the gun, accidentally fired it, and made the whole thing up? Remember, the cops looked for the two men for ‘several hours’ and found nothing.
Now, are there actual cases of civilians saving themselves or others with a firearm? No possible doubt about it, but this doesn’t appear to be one of them.
