This is one of my all-time favourite songs.

Apparently, Gregg Alexander decided to break the band up before they even released their second single, partly because he got tired of touring pretty quickly, partly because he claimed he had accomplished all his goals for the record, and partly because he "lost interest in fronting a 'One Hit Wonder' to the point that [he] was wearing a hat while performing so that people wouldn't see [his] lack of enthusiasm." Though how he expected to be anything but a one-hit wonder if the band broke up before they even released their second single, I don't know. And it's all the more surprising considering that that second single was still pretty good:

Although, apparently, the record label didn't have hopes much higher for the song, at least if the fake lyrics in the liner notes of the title song of "Maybe You've Been Brainwashed, Too" were any indication: "So hip, so young, so full of shit. The studio told us to shut up and write another hit." So, he ended up doing so -- for other artists, like Santana and Ronan Keating.

The band finally reunited a few months ago for the Biden inauguration:

And with that, it became clear that the Biden administration was already giving the world a more positive impact than Trump.

Son of a Gun by the La's. Whole album was genius but here's a taste.

I love the whole album.

Battleship Chains is smokin'.

.

My guess is you need a bigger amplifier.

My sound system in my garage does it justice.

I’m not sure how amplifying crap will make it less crappy.

Saw that coming, didn't listen. Coffee Back on topic. Does anyone know what's on the "B" side? They played it backwards!

I was truly surprised to learn that this band had just this one top 40 hit.

In the 80's every rock station was playing their music seemingly non-stop, creating possibly the greatest case of media overexposure ever. But just this one song climbed the charts to a position in the top 40.

30-odd years later, Dee Snider reprised the song in support of kids with cancer:

The original has such a great video.
