Benevolent Creator God?

Catholics don't put as much stock in the Bible as you would think.

Well, if God does not care, why should you?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Why should I care that some people won't live by God's standards? I really don't. I just think it's asinine to disrespect the rules of a God who is literally the reason you exist.

I was raised in a Catholic family, I was baptized and confirmed in the Church, attended Catholic school (for 12 horrifying years) and did post-graduate work at a largely Catholic university.

So, yeah. I think I know better than you.

The "horrifying years" part means you didn't learn anything from 12 years of Catholic school.

It's pretty strange this has to be said..but..yes, the catholic religion is certainly centered around the contents of a magic book.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

You are goofier than I originally thought.
God always knew what a robot would be, how it would behave, how it would think.......God does things a certain way, to avoid the possibility of humans becoming robots, because He knows that would not be a good thing for humanity.

Your gawd didn't even know where Adam and Eve were hiding after they chowed down on the apples.

I'll be a hypocrite if I want. I refuse to believe God would encourage something nasty.

You've never read that nasty book of iron age myths... er.... the buy-bull, have you?

Yes He did. When He asked, "Where are you?", it wasn't that He didn't know where they were or what had happened, it was said as a confirmation that He did, in fact, know what Adam and Eve had done.

Yes, I've read it.
