Australia does not have Taco Bell. That is possibly because Mexico is 12,000 miles away and there are relatively few Hispanics living here.
We had one Mexican restaurant for while. It was cleverly named "Tequila Sunrise". Unfortunately, the name was the best thing about the place. Didn't last long. No, I do not often have anything remotely Mexican. Make chilli con carne about once a year (it does not have beans unless I'm feeling really lazy) Have always wanted to make a savoury dish using chocolate. Not sure authentic Mexican chocolate is available here.

In the future, Taco Bell will be the only restaurant to survive the Franchise Wars. At least, that's according to the film Demolition Man.

It would really be a hoot for my buddy Dom to go to Oz and try the Mexican food... He' s from TJ and did 20 years in the US Navy as a cook and now owns a small eatery here.... He sometimes brings some goodies over when he needs a hand with his bike.... Fair dinkum I say... Fucker is a culinary wiz....

This may come as a surprise, but there isn't a single Taco Bell in Mexico, and the food served at Taco Bell scarcely even superficially resembles actual Mexican cuisine.

I actually like Taco Bell. I'm a cheap date. I love fast food.

I'm perfectly happy with that, because not having Taco Bell means we would have no fast food chains. In my opinion allowing fast food chains is one of the most stupidly self destructive things we've ever done to ourselves. The product is pretty much irrelevant. The behaviour the same; massive consumption of redundant protein, sugar, starch and simple carbohydrates. The outcome is nations of super sized human beings who cut decades off their life expectancy.
Should people be protected from themselves in this instance? Abso-fucking-lutely, simply for the cost to the community of such self destructive behaviour. Please don't misunderstand, I have no problem with people eating themselves to death, as long as I'm not paying for it.
As far as I'm aware Australia has proportionally more obese people than the US.
Has always struck me as counter intuitive that poor people are every bit as likely to be obese as the middle class.

Food cost and access is what does that. Taco bell is actually healthier than most of the shit at the dollar tree. Healthier than most of the shit at the grocery store...too.

The food was a very pleasant surprise when I was inducted into the army. Those cooks were very well trained and produced excellent meals from top quality ingredients.
I have never eaten better.

I had both good and bad.
Bad - small boat station in Michigan with a cook with a bad attitude and worse personal hygene. Goofy fuck put bay leaves in everything.
Good - Kodiak AK - a large galley run by a Phillipino Senior Chief and a good crew. High quality eats. We could bring in civilian frends for all you could eat breakfast for $1.85.
Best - Pt Reyes Ca. 1 good cook - 1 phenominal one (SS2) running it. We were outside the normal procurement area and the SS2 worked out deals with local suppliers. We got the best grass fed Angus beef and fresh ( caught that morning) seafood. I gained over 5 kilos stationed there....
