America. Worse than North Korea.

Sure, I might be able to stand out on a street corner and speak the truth.  But no doubt I would end up getting attacked, possibly killed, by one of the brainwashed minions of our government.  I have no power.  The media has all the power.  In taking on freedom of speech in that regard would be suicidal.  People should have a right to kill themselves.  But I reject freedom of being assaulted and possibly murdered.  Even our government isn't above murdering people.  Just like the Mafia might do.

Most of the forum rules are reasonable, or at least started out that way. There are bots and spammers who show up here who try to sell car insurance, or who try to sell their religion in the same way that one sells car insurance. Through annoying blasts of advertising.

I agree with what you said earlier, about the government and the corporate media being in lock step because they are in fact the same. Their propaganda and their control of speech is extremely effective. Recently YouTube and Twitter have been taking people off line if they dare to question the current party line on Ukraine. (Putin is Hitler, the US did nothing wrong, don't pay attention to all the Nazis in Ukraine because we love them now.)

There are also unwritten rules on this forum about how one behaves oneself. Personal insults are only OK when directed at certain types of people. You could get along here if you want, and make the political points that you want, if you frame them according to these unwritten rules. It's more about how you present yourself than the content of what you say.

It has often seemed to me that a lot of people here are very full of anger and frustration, and when a new person shows up who doesn't fit the approved forum mould, this person gives them license to vent the rage they've been storing up. So at the moment, you're it.

But there is a lot in the world to be angry and frustrated about, so I suppose we all deal with that in different ways.

OK, troll or millennial that thinks the whole world is against him and it so so unfair.

Had lunch with one the other day with my son. This 28yo infant thought that he was unfairly ticketed for not having registered his car or paid insurance for three years. Went on and on about it during the entire meal. It's all a government and corporation conspiracy to keep the falsely entitled down. He wants the US to be communist so that someone else can pay for his existence.

I picked up the check but told him he owed me $12 for the meal because the lunch was suppose to be for only my son and I. He stormed off stating 'see what I mean'. Very glad we hadn't come in the same car.

Deepend, you're little more than a joke in my book. You've provided nothing of merit up to this point and you're initial attitude sucks. If this weren't the internet dollars to donuts you'd sign a different tune.

I'll poke at you every chance I get.

There was once an atheist website supported by a guy named Seth, called "The Thinking Atheist (TTA). Don't remember his last name. He cashiered the forum, much to his regret, because of his loss of revenue. There are a lot of hard feelings about how he closed that site down. Here (and elsewhere) it is referred to as "The Forum That Shall Not Be Named", or by the acronym TFTSNBN. At some point, people will move on. I know that I have.

Then move your ass to North Korea and enjoy all the freedoms you claim that they have there and write us from there how bad we are having it. Oh, wait, you won't because you are full of shit, and North Korea is not just more oppressive, but actually oppressive.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Wow look at all the strawmen

1. Let's see Putin justifies invading nations based on ethnic makeup and history now what other autocrat did that? Let's see he's building camps ...Hmm who does that sound like?

2.No one likes Ukraine's far-right groups but they aren't the ones currently invading another country and if by all you mean at best a few hundred people and if you hate Nazis so much why aren't you crying over all the Nazis in Russia's armed forces and government?

3. In regards to Ukraine the US did nothing wrong

There are times to question a narrative and then there are times a spade is a spade  Dodgy

Ukraine is the least Antisemitic nation in it's region

As far as any forum is concerned, to them the whole problem with my truth is that I can defend it.  You could have a forum with 100 of the absolute top smartest people on the planet on it and I could still defend it.  Far beyond their ability to disagree.  That is if any of them were foolish enough to disagree.
