And I'm probably also far more liberal than you when it comes to treatment of prisoners. I want to give black serial killers voting rights, while they are in prison. Do you want to give someone in jail who invaded the Capitol on Jan 6 voting rights while they're in prison? I doubt it. You just want to virtue signal about how you care so much.

I agree that Kamala has no charisma, and doesn't come across as a genius.

But, why should someone in jail not have national or state voting rights?  I can see how local voting rights might be a problem - a town with a local prison could literally be run by the inmates.  Basically being in prison doesn't make you a "resident" of the town.

Stripping voting rights from inmates is done largely for racist reasons, as are the laws that target racial groups.  We don't allow intelligence tests, mental stability tests, or any other for voting.  Doing one bad thing in your life doesn't make you a non-person.  Voting rights are the most important way to preserve all other rights - including human rights.
I'll take no charisma or not being super bright to being cruel and callous like Disantis or a full-blown nutcase like Trump

I can answer this.

A person who's not been willing to uphold their responsibilities in regard to the social contract shouldn't be given a voice in molding it.

That doesn't follow at all. A person can still vote for socially beneficial policies even if they have broken the law and nowhere in the social contract does it say we must cut people off from voting who do so. The social contract is for all even rule breakers.

What about people NOT in prison (and who have never been) who don’t uphold their social contract responsibilities?

I do want to give all prisoners voting rights. I want them to be able to vote after they get out of prison, and also while they are in prison. I hadn't really thought of the issue much before, but once Bernie Sanders made his argument in favour of giving even the worst criminals voting rights, I could not disagree with Bernie's logic. Nudge seems to not want to answer the question though as to whether he would give all prisoners voting rights.

Edit- I stand corrected. Nudge says he wanted them either in Gitmo or shot on sight, but yeah, he claims to agree that they should have voting rights. And, Nudge himself says he doesn't vote, so by AFs standards, silence equals violence and Nudge is responsible for Trump being elected by not voting against him. I personally don't hold Nudge accountable for Trump, but by AF logic, sure.

Also what if the social contract is unjust and the people breaking it have a morally valid reason for doing so?

The social contract is not an all or nothing thing. This is just senseless stigmatizing.
