Conflict resolutions skills? They both have a point but it is over nothing worthy of a conflict to start with. Meanwhile, the person in power struts a noxious attitude?   No point in that.  Would it hurt to acknowledge that she sees his point?

I assumed you did something for a minute, and I acknowledged the mistake immediately.  I can work a phone fine. What about letting a newbie adjust to the software/rules before getting all judgmental and rude? 

Maybe look at the quality of the advise in context with the circumstances rather than who is giving it.
