Not at all what I was talking about.

Then I'm confused regarding your position. Fair enough.

To me, I would prefer that every being became good and existed forever in bliss. I don't think that reflects reality, simply a wish.

He's probably a damned rationalist which is about as far that you can get from being a humanist.

From my many years as a Christian, this debate about who goes to heaven is misguided.

In Christianity, people go to Hell for original sin, not for "bad things they do". Humanity is inherently flawed and separated from God forever, because of original sin. All will go to Hell, no matter how good they try to be. Hell isn't a punishment, so much as a law of nature for beings that don't have a piece of God inside them.

The point of Jesus death, was that it was a supernatural event. Only the blood magic of a demigod could break the magic power of "original sin", and allow a piece of God to enter us. This piece of god (the holy spirit) is what gets us to heaven. How good you have to be after "receiving" this Holy Spirit is not explicitly defined in the bible.

Of course, "original sin" and "Hell" are creations of God in the first place, making the whole thing ludicrous.

Theism is foolish. Theism is irrational.

Which results in Christians having to accept that infants, born with original sin/guilt, go to hell when they die. Or at least it would if the were consistent. But they find ad hoc reasons to allow infant salvation, which often undermines things like the gospel and scripture and theology. It becomes a nightmare of entangled ad hoc solutions.

Blood magick human sacrifice is a fitting description for the cross-work. Though that's fine, if it's an accurate description of reality. I don't think it is.

I, like you, used to be a Christian, What led you out of the faith?
