2)  The limit would usually be set at (within many progressive queer communities): sincere, with some reasoning, in a way that doesn't contradict objective external reality.  All social construct identities, especially gendered ones, would therefore be valid.

3) OK.

4) I think that depends on what is meant by 'normative' as opposed to just 'heteosexual'.  Heteronormative often seems to include more, and is a more expansive term, than just heterosexual.

I've always been in love with things or people that don't love me back. It isn't healthy at all.

I think there's quite a difference between fictosexuality, objectum sexuality, and unreciprocated organic attractions and relationships.  If you want to discuss these with me, I'd encourgae you to start a thread on the topic.  I would find such a discussion fun.  I'm not sure I want to derail my own thread with that particular tangent here, though.

Not really dude. They're all on the same wavelength of hopeless sexual attractions.

Looks like we disagree on this too. But again, if you want a discussion on that difference start a thread.

"If someone is an asshole, they're an asshole, if everyone is an asshole, you're the asshole"

I guess those that experience a lot of external assholery, like women, gays, immigrants, etc, must all be assholes by that reasoning.

Or maybe some people are just rude sometimes for various reasons.

Would you prefer it if we just ignored each other?

My opinion, I don't care. Maybe you should care less about others opinions, it might make you happier/content.

I'm curious as to why asking such a question has raised the idea that I am overly-concerned about this topic.  And also curious as to why if someone thinks that it is worth telling me.  As it is, it strikes me as simply a rude comment, especially if the person making it doesn't care about the topic.  Perhaps I am misunderstanding what is happening here.

Can you explain what the motivation and reasoning was for making a personal comment about what you perceive to be an inappropriate level of concern, and what you think is the appropriate level of concern on this topic?

Then I'm a rude person, but I call them as I see them.

It's not just this thread, you've exhibited the same behavior in several threads. I understand that you don't like my observation, we'll have to disagree.

I fail to understand the obsession over labels that seems to pervade most societies. Everybody wants to label everyone else. Personally, I think people are people and take them one at a time, as they present themselves. No need to pigeonhole anyone.

I am:
A father
A Brother
A son
An Atheist
An Agnostic
I am straight, CIS gendered
I am a CAD Monkey
I am an Electrical Designer
I am a Broncos Fan (Denver and Boise State)
Some people call me a friend
Others call me an asshole
I am caring
I am compassionate
I am uncaring
I am inconsiderate
I am kind
I am cruel
All of these are true at some time or other, some more often than other.

I am... Me, and that's the only label that tells the true story. I fail to understand why any other labels matter.

Who counts as queer? Well, anyone who claims the label. Why do we need a detailed definition other than that.

So are you agreeing that you're a rude person,or not? It seems somewhat unclear whether you consider yourself rude or not.

Need Is an interesting question.
But let's imagine a scenario: an asexual person wishes to enter an lgbtq+ society, space, or obtain some legal protection or bursary etc laid aside for lgbtq+ folk. Whether they count as queer or not matters to them.

It's a discussion that occurs a lot in queer spaces, in my experience, and makes various queer magazines and news articles etc.

I typically don't consider my self rude, often sarcastic and flippant but not rude.

I acknowledge that you consider me rude. Isn't that enough?

Enough for what? I'd prefer it if you weren't rude to me. I don't really care about anything else.
