Not just that, but thinking that Elon Musk is smart, and let alone genius, can be dangerous.
Quote:After he quotes Musk enthusing about his far-fetched Hyperloop plan, “This is going to change everything,” Isaacson begins the next paragraph: “It didn’t change everything.” (What it did change, by some reckonings, were California’s plans to build a high-speed rail line, which Musk has acknowledged he sought to undermine.)

He fucked up California’s plans to build a high-speed rail line because they believed this snake oil salesman.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Quote:Elon Musk is funding a new school planning to open in Austin, Texas
Associates of Elon Musk are planning to launch a new primary and secondary school, and ultimately a university, in Austin, Texas, with the help of a nearly $100 million donation from the billionaire, tax documents show.
......
“The School is being designed to meet the educational needs of those with proven academic and scientific potential, who will thrive in a rigorous, project based curriculum,” the filing posted by Bloomberg states.
The school plans to initially enroll about 50 students and grow over time, according to the filing. It expects to be funded through donations and tuition fees, although it notes that the school will offer scholarships to support students who couldn’t otherwise afford to attend. The filing also noted that the group was in the process of hiring an executive director, as well as teaching and administrative staffers, and eventually plans to seek accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
“The School intends ultimately to expand its operations to create a university dedicated to education at the highest levels,” according to the filing.

I read somewhere the Elon Musk is feeling under the weather. I’m sure we all hope it’s nothing trivial.

I’ve always thought the one we had was sufficient.

I saw one of those on the road here last week.
They're uglier in person.

Citron Karin seems to have been a much more considerate vehicle from pedestrian safety point of view. The cybertruck, on the other hand, seems purpose designed to maximize harm to the pedestrian in the case of a collision.
The tall blunt front end is designed to ensure any pedestrian it hit isn’t swept up onto the hood but pushed to the ground and run over.
The thick gauge steel body is designed to break the pedestrian’s bones and crack the pedestrians skull rather than dent and yield
The sharp corners and edge seems designed to maximize contusions and possibly dismember any pedestrian it hits

All the places where the exterior design of the cyber truck differ from the Karin seems designed to maximize harm to any pedestrian it hits.

It’s nice that pedestrians have the option of dying by 1) being run over, having their bones and skull crushed, and being dismembered, or 2) being incinerated by the inevitable fireball.
