The holes appear to all be different sizes.

Yup, different sizes. This is used for knitting the fingers for gloves. 12 different size holes for different size fingers. One can view a youtube video or two to see how it is used.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
