What I perceive is you being the opposite of an adult. Teenagers with underdeveloped brains behave the way you're suggesting, but by all means you continue to do you. I'm not your keeper, after all.

What you perceive is irrelevant; your position indicates that you require a boss to behave as a parent, which is objectively childish behavior.

If it's severe enough, and the bully refuses to stop, I'd say the former would be in order.

Words, no matter how much we dislike them, are not something severe enough to attack someone over; harassment is.
