I requested to separate from my company today. I have been bullied by two VPs repeatedly over the past 2 years. I documented everything. I requested a formal investigation from HR. The result? not only is their behavior considered "normal" for a high pressure startup with 4 companies, but it is warranted. I do not want to be part of this culture. I toughed it out for 3 years with a 90 minute commute each way and 60 hour weeks.

So for my next venture while out of work, I am going to be officially a professional poker player. That's right, my principal source of income for the next month is going to be from the tables.

I've treated it as a side gig for years, playing in private games, casinos, online. Now it's gonna be what I do while I find another job.

I love poker, but could never make as a professional. After 40+ years at it, I calculate that I’m about $11 ahead.

I am in the interview process with two firms. It will take until the new year at this point to get it all done. May as well play some cards and have a laugh.

Wouldn't mind being canceled from work today, but I'll see when I get there.

Also, planning on saving my PTO for after the new year when the weather's cooler. Will take ten days off, likely.
