You do realize to be experts in special effects you have to have a strong understanding of science and physics? Have you even seen what they have been able to build/do? They know the science. Your point is absurd.

That the mythbusters are some kind of reliable source for final and perfect scientific information is more absurd. It is a TV show. It is infotainment, and certainly their results can be doubted. I have seen a couple of episodes where they made huge flaws in their process and failed to get an accurate conclusion.

If your best source for truth is corporate TV, good luck.

Hah, you miss the important fact. They admit their failings and gladly try again with better information. That's the mark of a true scientist, instead of blindly clinging to an ideal no matter how much the evidence says otherwise. Which, btw, is what you do.

Yes they have a TV show but if you actually know anything about them they are committed skeptics and do their bests to present the facts in their entirety.

I disagree.

I do know about them. I don't doubt their skepticism, only their level of validity. I would take a lot of things as good information long before the Idiot Box.

If you are saying that 'the mythbusters did a show on the moon landings, so problem solved' then I think that is a weak argument. There is much stronger science, and better ideas when you look other places than mindless entertainment.

Except for the conflict of interest. They have a job to do, and it does not involve science. It involves money, TV and ratings, all of which push a strong agenda. If their bosses tell them not to present the facts in their entirety, they have no recourse.

All in all, like always I am trying to make a small point. The mythbusters is not a good source for the science you base your beliefs on. If you think it is, so be it.
Thank you,

I never said that. I didn't need the show to convince me that we landed on the moon. All I'm saying is that the Mythbusters do a great job of showing how science really works to the public at large. And to dismiss them entirely just because they're on TV is BS.

Yes we landed on the moon. I can't believe there are people who question this.

This is true for Jamie and Adam, they are experienced at special effects.

Kari, Grant, and Tory have their own area of expertise.

I believe mythbusters does a geat job of showing what myths they are trying to break.

And we did land on the moon in '69.

Yup,even atheists. Atheist conspiracy theorists go a long way towards destroying the myth of atheist intellectual superiority. Angel Cloud

I came across a phrase describing such people (EG Holocaust deniers, 9/11 truthers, moon landing deniers and similar fruitcakes)

"A mile wide and one inch thick"
