How about merely much less "superstitious?"

Yes. For the hundredth time, I am not christian. I don't mind the bible as far as any theologic work goes, but I do not think it is more or less divine than any others. It's not about "true" it's about "relative". The bible isn't a newspaper article, it's allegorical poetry.

Thank you,

OK ... so the bible is irrelevant to your belief in a god.

Why is it you believe?

Moved this to Feedback & Suggestions seeing as it is a suggestion rather than a story of deconversion.

You wouldn't know how to tell superstition apart from rationalism tho'.

The_Truth,

I am not anti semitic, but I think there are certain nations that have warranted acts of aggression. Look into what Israel is actually doing to the surrounding countries. Look into how she became a nation again. The entire thing is beyond shady. Please don't think I would exclude the USA from such a list, because I would honestly put her at the very top in bold letters.

Doesn't it seem a little sad that an all powerful being created this system that leads to a select few people spending eternity singing songs to him and saying wonderful things about him while he is in ear shot? And these "select few", I think we can all agree that the church is not exactly humanity's cream of the crop. If I had to spend a never ending amount of time listening to Jerry Falwell, or Benny Hinn, or any popular Christian, I might lead a revolt and take a third of the angels with me too. Can you blame Satan? Who wants to be a part of that?

(Don't worry, though. It's not real.)

So you think that your sky daddy is not a mindless superstition?

Interesting.

Its good to be around people with high IQs, you'd learn a thing or two from them!

I would agree with you about theists they are blinded by their faith and everything else!
My mother is a theist and she thinks everybody is smart no matter what religion they are.

The theory is that having these beliefs was an evolutionary advantage, as it caused us to take less risks and ultimately bond more as a society. I don't know of any plans to "create" human life from scratch;creating simple cells from scratch is difficult enough.

Well said Adrian.

"Now this will be the plague I shall send upon the enemies of Israel; Their flesh shall rot as they stand on their own two feet, Their eyeballs shall rot in their sockets, and their tongues shall rot in their mouth" - Zechariah 14:12.

This verse is about the end of mankind.

Oh, so you are saying this is the end of days apocalypse or armageddon?

Quote:Armageddon is very real. Just keep your eyes focused on Iran and Syria. These two nations already tried to launch a series of missiles, but they back-fired on them. This only proves they are getting prepared for a war. And guess where these missiles will target? Israel. God's chosen land. He has promised since the dawn of the Israelis that he will protect his land and people. So, I guess we will see when Iran tries to vaporize Israel off the map.

Unless there are going to be earthquakes, tribulations, and famines. There is not going to be armageddon.
