Why does this look like an appologist trap? And the statement stinks of logical fallacy. Heres all you need to know.

1. The background story of Jesus appears to be ripped off from other demigods of the past.

2. There is ZERO contemporary evidence for Jesus.

Thanks for your comment, but alas, your wrong on all parts. You see the problem? Any Christian could easily escape your arguments.So you can see I'm trying to equip you rather then trap you. If you continue to the read the blog, you will find, unfortunatly there is plenty of evidence for Jesus outside the Gospel. As for the demigod thing, unfortunately again, Jesus is very different to the myths and legends of demigods. Very different.

Hmmm.. What, suddenly three threads with the same topic seemed a bit much to you? Well, since the one where I gave you my two cents seems to be lost in the massive blackness of cyberspace, why not post it again. Here goes:

C) Imaginary gets us nowhere. Freud and Nitzsche had the same idea, saying God is just an illusion of the mind, a self created "father" figure to fill this "hunger" that we have. While these are brilliant theories, you cannot disprove God psychologically. Because you reach this, unproveable conundrum

1. God doesn't exist, and we want to believe in him.
2. God does exist, and we don't want to believe in him.

So the thing is to discover the truth. Does God really exist? For example, If a tree falls in a forest with noone around, does it still make a sound? Of course it does. Due to the true laws of science, a sound is the result of when two objects collide with each other. So according to what is true, it will make a sound, because we know that science works. How to discover the truth of whether God really exists or not, regardless of our psychological circumstance, is the tricky bit I suppose...

Is there any demigods or gods with EXACT stories like Jesus .. no but there are a few with ALOT of simular themes ...Virgin birth father is god, earthly father is royalty (why this matters still unsure) birth marked by a star.... Jesus shares alot of simular events with Herculies and Horus . NAME 1 contemporary peice of evidence.....1??

Similar doesn't quite hit the mark though does it? You have to remember also that Jesus claimed to be fully God, and fully human. Unlike the others. Christians argue that in the Old Testament , the prophet Isaiah predicts the coming of Jesus, before the myths and legends of these other Gods (and you have to look at the historical reliability of the bible). Most myths talk of Gods having sex which is not a virgin birth...Jesus actually existed.

Following on, evidence outside the Bible? Look at the works of Josephus, Tacitus, Pliny the Younger, Suetonius...Not trying to bebate with you, just telling you the facts...

I'm sure you've done the research, but so have thousands of others. I would like to know what your credentials are, why you have suddenly solved the puzzle so many others have tried to do for centuries. Nevertheless, if you have some new insight, do share it here. I'm at least quite curious what you have come up with.

No, I cannot disprove a god. But following faiths through the ages, I can safely say that all deities are imaginary. For instance, I'm not afraid of Thor (and he's a bad MF! ) every time there's a thunderstorm around. I do not pray to Ahti, king of the seas before I embark on a journey over water. All the old gods have "disappeared" as soon as the culture built around them did.
As for the conundrum, it's not about not wanting to. It's because I know it's idiotic to do so. If I was proven wrong, I would know there was a god (or many), thus eliminating the ridiculous element of faith.

Flavius? seriously Now I KNOW you have done NO homework either that or dont know what contemporary evedence is ..... none of those who you have mentioned could have been contemporary, flavius Josephus is the closest but even if BORN with quill in hand could not have been contemporary....... Pliny 61CE, Flavius 37CE, Tacticus 56CE, Saetonius 70CE. Besides the Josephus manuscripts where it mentions Jesus has been demonstrated to be a 2nd century forgery... Even if it wasnt, Flavious also mentions Herculies (multiple times)in other parts of his writings so is Herculies now real too?

Just to be clear.. Contemporary something of the time this would have to be written by someone who atleast had a chance to meet the guy or be present DURING his life not after.... all you have is hearsay
