I have converted to Christianity

I have converted to Christianity
As strange as it may seem, I have converted to Christianity.

I have spent a lengthy period of time analysing life from a philosophical, religious and scientific perspective. I have dabbled with Christianity on several occasions, I have also dabbled with other religions such as Buddhism, Pantheism and Atheism. Although I do have psychotic depression and am susceptible to false perceptions, I have an extreme level of self-awareness, and I have been having some very intense spiritual experiences in relation to God and Jesus Christ; I can no longer deny my belief in the profound nature of Christ.

I must admit it is a radical departure from scientific realism and atheism (and I was a staunch atheist), but my recent feelings have been so profound that I can no longer attribute them to anything other than God.

I know science discards anecdotal evidence as meaningless and unreliable; however, I now know that Christianity leads to a much greater and more profound level of truth than the scientific method could ever accomplish, particularly in the areas of emotional wisdom and morality.

See a doctor. You probably have a brain tumor.

Atheism is not a religion.

I'd see the therapist. You could be bipolar.

Atheism isn't a religion. I'll explain why nice and quick like.
Theism means belief in god. Atheism means lack of belief in god. The 'A' means 'without'.

If you can get that so dreadfully wrong, I'm not too surprised about any of this.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Then how are you so certain of the nature experiences? What would you say to a schizophrenic that hears voices but is absolutely sure that one of them is real?
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Wordup! More space in hell for me!

But seriously... this is the oldest, smelliest troll tactic in the book.

"Suddenly I believe in jesus now!"

How convenient.

When did you "convert?"

I would suggest that you seek professional psychiatric help in order to evaluate these experiences. A good psychiatrist with a religious background and experience of spirituality. Rule out any mental illness. A good rule of thumb regarding spiritual experiences is the effect that they produce in your life. If you life is enriched and improved by the experience it is more likely to be genuine. If it has a negative impact on your life to the detriment of relationships or health for example it must be questioned and evaluated. A good confessor is very useful.
