RE: Detachment
People respect others who don't compromise their views, their choices or their lifestyle for anything less than a damn good reason.
Thats seen as integrity. People gravitate toward it because it shows strength of character as opposed to people who are constantly out to please and will compromise at the drop of a hat. They may be liked but they are not really respected.

Theres nothing remotely profound in this. If anything its a regrettable state of affairs that most dramatically effects two personality types. It means that perfectly nice people constantly out to please will be walked over and selfish assholes will have more influence. Its a rare person who finds the right balance to be a nice guy but to keep their integrity, its like walking the worlds most unstable tightrope.
I think thats what you're referring to.

yeah balance is key for me..I try to stay in the center as often as possible. Don't want to be too arrogant or too meek. In Christian circles that's how I perceive the imbalance they have....

Hey er... watched parts of a couple of your videos... you're not big on proof huh? I mean I get you couldn't disprove the simulation one either but is it really healthy to assume you are part of a simulation based solely on the fact you can't disprove it?
I can't prove my penis doesn't emanate undetectable waves of interference that go around the globe and cause static with some peoples television sets. Should I base my views on that assumption and cut it off so next door can watch Idiot Abroad?

Also; why are you constantly naked?

RE: Detachment
I'm not sure why this thread is in the Christian forum, but regardless of that minor issue - WTF are you talking about???

I'm reading/hearing a lot of philosophical mumbo jumbo but all I'm seeing is a guy who thinks he's sooo veeerry cool and really wants to let people know it without just coming out and saying it.

Am I wrong?
Are you really unfathomably deep and I'm just too simple to get it?

... doubtful.
